He can travel forward with the ball and beat a press.

Something we have lacked at times from our CBs

Yeah we need someone who can do that id agree but we don't need someone who's constantly caught out of position, goes to ground quicker than Neymar, or regularly gets beaten in the air at the back post bcoz he can't judge the flight of the ball.

Our successful European campaign this season was in large parts down to having Centre backs capable of defending our box when needed, signing Ajer would weaken that

USG duo Noah Sadiki and Franjo Ivanovic are two players who continue to attract the attention of Euro scouts.

They would both fit Celtic’s target profile — but would come with hefty price tags.
Sadiki, 20, has racked up 46 appearances in all competitions this season and broke into the DR Congo squad last year.

The defensive midfielder represented Belgium at youth level but opted to declare for the African nation and already has seven full caps.

Lyon tried to sign him on a loan-to-buy deal for £5m last summer and USG would want a lot more for him in the coming months.

USG hitman Ivanovic has also earned rave reviews after scoring 17 goals since his summer move from RijekaCeltic could still sign a striker this summer, despite Daizen Maeda’s prolific form since moving into the central role.

But Brighton, USG’s partner club, are understood to be Ivanovic’s most likely destination.

In the sun doesn't look like a concrete rumour so thought best to put it in here

Ivanović would be the closest non-Japanese player to Kyogo in terms of playing style.

I watched him closely against the Huns earlier in the season. Looked decent movement wise and is clearly on an upwards trajectory. Ivanovic this is ofc.

21 and just capped this year twice by Croatia.

Pipped by sporting lisbon to a georgian defensive mid, hopefully in the market for one.

Can't see any way in which we sign an Ivanovic now that we're trying to tie Maeda down as our main man up top (Rodgers words)..

We already have Idah who we paid 9 mill for. Unless we can take a small hit and get rid, which doesn't look likely.....then it's hard to inagine what will likely be about 10 mill for this boy..

Promising to hear we're targeting key positions already though..

Some Celtic site is tipping us to move for Atalanta midfielder Mario Pasalic, free at end of season, 30.

Looked quite dangerous for them against us had a few opportunities if I remember.

Don't see it happening, but just the mere thought is raising my heart rate a bit.

I refuse to believe it but Pasalic would be an incredible signing. 30, experienced, and still playing at the top level.

I’d be shocked if he doesn’t renew with Atalanta, has played a lot for them this year and scored a fair few goals.

Pasalic is quality, but I just don’t see that happening at all. Would love to be wrong because he is exactly the type of player we are screaming out for in midfield.
