He's been mentioned earlier in the window I'm sure..

A couple of big, athletic, top bundesliga talents with plenty first team game time would be class..

He is a very highly rated player and would be some signing. Out of all the left backs linked in this window at some point he would be the one I would like to see us sign most.

Some talk of Aaron Connolly as the third striker. Can't see it, he's 24 and surely will want regular game time. Think we'll be looking for a younger development striker.

 

No idea mate being honest. Koln got relegated but I have no idea how hard that hits a team in Germany financially or what their circumstances are. I am surprised he hasn’t been bought by a Hoffenheim, Leipzig or maybe even Stuttgart given how high they finished last season.

 

Not that we’re likely to be able to beat what Sociedad can offer the player, but we should match their accepted bid and at least get the chance to ask his reps the question.

I’d guess a lot of what we do in the next couple weeks hinges purely on what happens next with O’Riley.

McCowan I’m guessing will go right down to the last day given it should be straight forward to get over the line (no laughing at the back).

I think we’ll get some sort of a defender in on loan even though we need a left sided centre half and a left back.

If O’Riley goes, which is looking inevitable now, we simply have to spend a decent chunk on a replacement for him even despite having Bernardo in. You’d like to think we’ve been working on something in the background in the case he does leave but the way we go about our business you’d never be sure.

If Bernardo does end up being O’Rileys direct replacement and then someone like McCowan comes in to give a bit more depth then the board will have failed the manager again, miserably.
