You can see the difference in the time it takes to get players in with rodgers and big ange. He's wasting no time at Tottenham in getting players in quick. I'm not saying it's rodgers fault but I reckon ange would be on the boards back trying to hurry things along.

Ange comes across as "don't give us your *. If you want to win do it now or I'll be off".
Very much to the point and like his teams....he never stops

By definition then, he would have gotten things right in the summer, correct?

    Difficult to compare.

Ange had his issues here as well. Basically had to come out publicly and ask for things to be sped up.

I've no doubt Rodgers is wanting things sped up but deals with things differently to Ange as he's not the same kinda manager.

I don't envy anyone dealing with our board and recruitment team tbh

Could argue transfers at spurs are just going at a normal pace.

When he was here Ange didn't need to deal with Lawwell.

He probably would be on the boards back but don't forget the ridiculous level of popularity and success Rodgers had here in his 1st 2 years and it still carried no wait when it came to dealing with that * lawwell.

Rodgers has said since the summer we need quality. Our captain has come out recently and said the same thing. They canny be more clearer that we need better players in the door. It’s not up to them to find them and get the deals done.

Bingo. The difference is Lawwell. Unless it’s just a coincidence that we are back doing things the way we used to when he was here before.

He gave us an absolute rocket the first summer as well to stress things, when it wasn’t going quick enough for his liking.

Were things really different when Ange was here other than when we announced the three January signings from Japan? That was early but I feel like it was very easy to deal with Japanese clubs. Possibly a cultural element to it and their season was over I think.

As well as most of our January signings under Ange were in fact done months before the window, may of just been lucky or cause the leagues we bought from were mostly at end of season.

Ange’s first summer our biggest signings (bar Kyogo) were done on the last day. 2nd summer it was mostly CCV, Jota & Maeda being kept on permanent.

I think the biggest difference was that most players Ange signed made an impact straight away.

Aye it was only players from leagues that were finished (J-league and MLS) that came in early, people saying Ange did all his business fast are just ignoring all his other signings, it's very rare to have deals done for players in active leagues to arrive instantly when the window opens at most clubs.

Imagine the meltdown directed at the club on here if it was the other way around. and someone like O'Riley or Hatate's sale had been done over november/december and left us on the first of the month, when we hadn't even reached the winter break yet, but for us not to have done that means we're incompetent.

They weren’t. Folk need to get that out their head than when Ange was here everything was done day 1. Kyogo was brought in pretty early as Ange knew what he was like and would be class so it was easy and I doubt there was any competition for him. The 3 that signed in January from Japan were at the end of their season and again probably pretty easy business. Johnson was done fairly too but there was a massive break for the WC then.

Likes of Jota, Mooy, CCV, GG, Juranovic, O’Riley we’re all done pretty late on, O’Riley maybe more mid window. All very good and important business. With Pete back on though the penny pinching has started again. Probably looking for last minute bargains mainly.
