As long as Miller doesn't get the space to link up with Boyd, they'll struggle to score, so maybe stick Hartley on him with 4 midfielders in front of him. Samaras played on the left and did well in pre season and a fit Robson is vital for this type of game.

This would give us a bit more height than normal, especially if VOH was back but if not I hope he plays McDonald rather than Sheridan.

    ...................Hartley

    Nakamura..Robson..Brown...Samaras

    .....................VOH

Reverse the wingers' positions, and it's good. I hate this stupid thing Strachan is doing with wingers. One of his worst tactical flaws.

its going to be the old tried and tested formation of caldwell in the middle and loovens at the back. cant fault the consistency of this formation ( 2 attempts, 2 defeats)

lololol id agree with that Strachan is so stubborn he would use the formation until he managed to scrape a win somehow :31:

4-5-1 probably and play for a draw.

We might even play Darren O'Dea at RB like last time at the Bigot Dome

The fact its at Ipox, we'll need as much strength and character as possible. Depending who's fit after the Bairns match, this would be my team...

    Boruc

    Hinkel---Caldwell---Mick---Wilson

    Brown--Hartley
    Mizuno--------Naka--------Robson

    McDonald
I honestly don't want Samaras anywhere near the starting line up, just don't trust him anymore, if he scores a hat-trick against the Bairns then maybe just maybe....but we all know that'll never happen! lol

A 4-5-1 is a good tactic due to the midfield the Rankers have, and if I had any doubts against the formation, I'd put Loovens at CB, Caldwell next to Hartley, Naka on the right and Brown in the AM role... but thats just me lol

Crosas played an hour for the reserves at Kilmarnock. Apparantly done well. So maybe a wee half against Falkirk and get him on at the start against the monkeys, see how he is.

    Boruc
    Hinkel, Caldo, Mic, Wilson
    Brown, Crosas, Hartley, Naka
    Robson
McDonald or Samaras, can't make ma mind up, neither have been great recently.

Your saying we should play a highly inexperienced player in one of the biggest and decisive matches of the year?

    my team would be
    Boruc
HInkel caldwell Mcmanus Naylor (if he gets a game against falkirk)
    Brown Hartley Robson
    Naka
Skippy Samaras (although he is pish)
The huns have no width so i feel that would easily win midfield battle plus naylor and hinkel provide width for us

    Nakamura Brown Hartley Caldwell Robson
    Samaras

To beat the huns we have to play to there disadvantage which is balls into the box and BIG players attacking it. This is why L:eek:ovens WILL start because he is a great aerial threat. Caldwell gets slated for playing midfield but in all his performances hes never put a foot wrong in the middle of the park its at the back were the positioning of certain players has been our problem. With Hartley and Caldwell sweeping up behind the midfield, Brown and Robsons aggression winnning us the second balls and with the movement of Nakamura we should create at the very least a few decent chances so lets hope Samaras is up to match speed. If hes not I'd go with Sheridan as I cant see the point of putting balls into the box with McDonald starting.
