oh well thats another record we can go and win then. win the champions league with no Scottish players in the team, who would look the silliest Celtic or the sfa

agreed. unless they were all celtic supporters, then they may be more inclined to play for their shirt, but it seems that all too often these days that the youth coming through support the other side (ie Danny Wilson, Chris Burke) and can't see these lads bothering too much other than to put themselves in the shop window. as long as players are at celtic and doing the business, can't see why it matters where they're from.

Have to say the Maloney and Houghton parallels are not the same as Aidan. Houghton held out well into his 20s and even sent out pleas through the press for Scotland to pick him. He just realised he wasnt going to get picked and fair enough that he then went to Ireland as a back up with most folks blessing. Maloney is a guy who although born in another country was only born there by chance and quickly returned with his Scottish parents to Scotland and would have done all his growing up there and wouldnt even remember Malasyia. It would be crazy to expect him to play for a country he doesnt even remember, doesnt have any relatives in and his parents were only there for a few years because of some job. That is not the same as playing for a country you or you parents have never lived in and qualifying because of a grandparent. However, to be honest the Aidan thing used to really annoy me but it doesnt now because I do not really rate Aidan as a player. Great dribbler but that is it.

couldnt care less if it was a team of oompa loompas that took us to the champions league final. its the club the crest and hoops i support. the employees nationality is of no consequence.
