Hmm, I'll be disappointed if this turns out to be the case. We know what areas we need to improve on, ie... a centre half coming in. Celtic always seem to leave it until the last day though, then rush about daft trying to get everything done.

 

Hope its not the same old story about how we tried to get players but they wouldn't come etc etc etc, and also they will be waiting to see what happens across the city, the board will reckon if they lose Bougherra, McGregor and one other then we will walk the lge with the squad we have!!

 

I think its a mistake to think that Lennon doesnt have targets - and has had them in mind for months. I just think its exceptionally hard to get clubs to release players in January. And actually getting deals done - free transfers and loans aside - is becoming harder and harder these days ....

Personally I would love to see a central defender signed ... but if it comes down to signing someone of similar 'quality' of what we got because we cant get better - then i'd rather suck it up and go with what we got. Particularly as we got Wilson coming in next season. Ideally he comes now ... but if we bring in another body who isnt any better we are going to have just another centre half who probably isnt up to it and on wage bill.

But if you are the manager of another club and Celtic come in with a good offer for a first choice centre half are you going to release him with a week to go to find a replacement ? ... dont think the blame can be on Lennon for that.

And i know this point isnt going to be agreed with by many - but i wish O'Dea was around for Wednesday ..... if only because he has experience of being thrown into big games cold. More than the average Celtic squad player anyway.

If we have to go with this squad im not so concerned with it. Dont agree with the view we need to bring in another striker ... i think we have options to change shape and still have a goal threat.

I hope we bring in some players that improve the group. Ideally first eleven players ... but its hope more than expectation. And im maybe willing to cut Celtic some slack - i dont thinkit will be through lack of trying

 

If this is true i will be * gutted tbh

 

i think we will make at least 1 signing before the window closes, i dont think we would have let hooiveld go if we wernt going to replace him

 

yes it is with the same outcome same board same greed we need a centre back now if rogne gets injured 2nt will i get a game its a farce putting out players on loan when your short in that position but how typical is it with us save a few quid lessons never learned eh

 

ha ha we have struggled to win every home game apart from aberdeen walk the league not a chance of that

how the * is it the boards fault lenny has been trying to get people in but teams dont want to sell at this time of year.some people just love to bash the board even in 2008-09 wgs said he tried to get people in but was quoted stupid prices yet the bash the board mob rufuse to listen to that and blame the board for not getting fletcher yet every time celtic offered hibs what the were asking for they upped the price

 

Didn't Lennon say there won't be any new arrivals before the Hearts game tomorrow? That's what he said according to radio clyde anyway.

if teams think you are desperate the price keeps rising they will fleece you

 

We've been going through a lot of periods when our team is just beginning to gel and then the management is sacked, the next manager comes in and wants all his own players in - it has been a never ending circle.

With the exception of a couple of departures and arrivals, we need a bit of stability. A look at the hun team and the fact they have won the league two years running, shows what a bit of stability can do for a squad.

 

tbh i dont see any signings comming in

haveing said that i would rather see a quality player comming in thats gonna justify a starting position rather than a couple of scrub squad players just to make the fans happy

 

if you look at the way manure or any big epl club do business its usually only 1 or 2 players they bring in a season . this let's the team gel together without having to chop and change for the sake of it .
