I get the club taking the stance on lack of guaranteed safety at the crumbledome but I think we should've just shown the scum up further and gave them the allocation to see their team humped at CP anyway.

Be the bigger club and show them to be the useless basket case that they are.

Away ticket allocation for matches between Rangers and Celtic

Following recent media coverage around the issue of away tickets for matches between Celtic and Rangers, the SPFL has spoken with both clubs and can confirm it has been agreed between all three parties that:

    • the September 2024 and January 2025 William Hill Premiership matches between Rangers and Celtic will take place with a zero allocation for away supporters

    • thereafter, Rangers and Celtic will provide ticket allocations of around 5% of respective stadium capacity for away supporters, for SPFL matches between the two clubs. This remains subject to all necessary requirements being satisfied at both Ibrox and Celtic Park.

An SPFL spokesperson said: "The presence of away fans is a vital ingredient of the passion, drama and excitement that is the hallmark of the William Hill Premiership. We are pleased that Rangers and Celtic are committed to achieving the return of away supporters to their derby matches as soon as possible

I think it’s just a simple as we weren’t guaranteed to get in Ibrox in Jan so we weren’t going to let them in the next game.

5% after that is good though and it badly needed sorted out.

Across a number of months, Celtic has completed all necessary works with regard to accommodating away supporters for derby matches.

Without a guarantee that our supporters could attend Ibrox in January, however, unfortunately we were not in a position to allocate tickets to away supporters at Celtic Park for the forthcoming match in September.

We will continue to engage with all parties to seek a satisfactory solution.

I actually want away fans back at the games as I think it’s taken the edge away from the game. However, if there’s no guarantees we will have away fans at the New Year game, then not a chance should we be letting the get into Celtic Park in a few weeks. This is their * up.

    Great quotes.

Some of my favourite from him actually. Get them telt. He's not wrong either, this has all stemmed from that lot throwing the toys out the pram after getting continually shagged rotten.

Brendan Rodgers has accused Rangers of being at fault for the away fan lockout from the start and claimed Celtic have been "dragged into it".

The manager was reacting to the news that punters won't be allowed into away grounds for the first two derby matches of this season despite a deal being struck recently to end the lockout.

Rodgers said: "The club's job is to protect the support and if there's not that guarantee come the second fixture, then I think it's only logical that you won't reciprocate.

I think Celtic have played their part in what they were asked to do and I go back, nothing of this was Celtic's issue. Nothing. When you go back to when this all started, it's nothing to do with Celtic. Celtic gets dragged into this here as it being a Celtic and Rangers thing. It's not a Celtic and Rangers thing. This is a Rangers thing

Celtic when they're asked to have an agreement to make the stadium safe, we plough money into that and do the work which started months ago. That, with both parties, hasn't been agreed. It's not complicated, it hasn't been done. Good faith, however you want to put it, there's an agreement for both and it's not done.

It's not great faith. If we allow Rangers supporters in and we get to January and our own fans can't get in, it's not good faith. The agreement hasn't been upheld so Celtic have to rightly defend their supporters and the club and sadly Rangers supporters miss out on this game and Celtic in the return game

Eventually someone states the obvious. The allocations would never have been changed if we had our way there has only ever been 1 club driving this.

Now they cant guarentee the game will be played at Ibrox never mind safety at Ibrox

Their board will actually be loving this, it gives them something to try to deflect attention from their own failings, fan the flames and distract the gullible with another us vs them spat while everything crumbles around them, focusing their anger outwards.
