No affection for any present Celtic player

boruc , hinkel , aiden , maloney , crosas , and hooiveld are my favourites .

 

This is why Keane was brought in i feel- as a stop-gap to appease fans.

It's all good and that, that we get a chance to see him here , but ad rather we were successful you know

 

artur buroc is the only celtic player i have affection for.mainly because of his legendary antics towards the huns.altough his performances recently hae been top notch. i like mcginn and mccourt as well but they arent regulers. i would say keane as well but he isnt on a pernament

 

says it all about the way we feel about our squad when the club captain disnae get a mention on a thread about favourite players. it reminds me of the spell our club went through just before tommy burns was appionted manager when the team was just full of nobodies. wayne biggins, carl mugleton & andy peyton should never have been in the same post code as celtic park never mind wear the shirt. i now look at our side and its been too much change too quickly.....and because some are here on loan it'll change again in the summer. we have too many creative players and no roy aitken/neil lennon/barry robson type who bosses the centre of the game with a snarl and heavy tackle.

 

nguemo,fortune,hinkel....any player who bursts his * for the team deserves to be liked by the fans

 

Robson was probably my latest favourite.
There are no Lennons, Lubos, Stans or Suttons, guys who played for the jersey, it's a sad day at Parkhead and I think it's one of our major problems at the moment.

I am thinking the same not 1 player in that team is my hero, if i was to bump into 1 of them on a night out or something like that there would be no way i would be star struck as they call it/ i would just be like that, owrite mate mon the hoops

Were as if i bumped into lennon, larsson,lubo, di cannio, van hooiydonk, cadete, bobo, mjallby i would have been well star struck, infact a seen lennon up at parkhead last season going into a game and managed to get a we handshake wasnt star struck but a was glad to have seen him

 

yes thats what we are missing a player who everyone loves, a player who all the kids get there name on the back of their top like we had with Larsson

boruc would be the only one who comes close

 

robson was the man also liked skippy never been a fan of mcgeady tbh only maloney mcginn n mccourt inspire

 

Of all the hun games and in Europe how many has he stood out or just got down to putting a shift in,like you see Wayne Rooney,I was lucky and spoiled to see likes of Jimmy Johnnstone,so maybe why I am critical.

 

Myself and our fans and club have been saying that for the last 4 years no one stands out so it is not down to not winning

 

We still have comments comming on here goin on about when we gel and not time yet,have they been watching with dark green tinted specs,we just got * again by that dirty scum bag of a manager WS who is still ranting about how refs are good,wake up people this is not going to happen,before the weekend you were all saying once we beat the huns,we will go on a run,and not one of you were on here after Sunday to give your views, now its back to gelling again,bricks aginst the wall right enough

 

If I had to pick a favouite player I'd say Rasmussen but we haven't seen much of him so I can't fully judge.

Love Boruc, he's a proper bhoy and he seems like a great guy irl.

There was numerous players i loved when O'Neill was the manager but now no one really stands out. Hinkel has been solid and i rate him highly, then probably McGeady and Fortune when they play well.

I think players like Ki and Zhi and a waste of time and see nothing in them at all, same with Samaras i hate that man with a passion

 

We call him the big tranny cause he acts and looks like it ha ha

 

I don't consider Ki a waste of space. He's still young and is one of the only guys in the team that can pass well.
He will become very important for us I'm sure.

 

Crosas, I know he gets * all time at celtic but he is the future. Maloney, wish he'd never left. Although he isn't playin as much ( injuries all the time) love the guy. Boruc, enough said.

Think thats it. I understand the point that we dont have enough class, standard, reputation. But, it's up to the players to do so and we also cant afford the standard we once could. so that is the few players I truly have affection for. Big Ras is one for the not too distant future.

yeah i dont think there is anyone in the squad just now that is a role model, or that anyone looks up to, theres no lennons or mjallbys, no petrov or thomsons......if odea could play the way he did against the huns then he would stand out a mile away, but unfortunatly he only wants to play four games a season.

 

For me it is Boruc and McCourt but I totally understand the purpose of the thread. I know some people criticise this way of thinking and I understand that it doesn't equate with quality but I love a player who understands what it means to play for our club and who is willingly to give their all every time.

 

in the same way koki and hutchinson is. or mccourt and sheridan.....................every now and again we get a glimpse of a bit of talent.....but its not sustained.
