We've had weeks to sort this dilemma out mate. I've already conceded, losing Boyata to injury and Erik is bad luck. When Toure was released, we simply had to go out and buy a top drawer defender. We can't say we can't afford it after the Champions League windfall we had last season.

I know what you're saying, we can't go out and panic buy - I appreciate that. However, to go into this game with limited defensive options is worrying.

You know what the Atlana Manager will say to his players - "They're outstanding attacking wise but they've got a makeshift defender in, make sure we expose this". Friday showed his lack of experience at the centre back position.

I'm probably worrying too much, without being overly arrogant I doubt they will worry us too much and will park the bus, we should have enough to ensure a safe and comfortable victory.

However, in reality I know nothing. I was convinced Boyata was a dud and I also said Armstrong isn't good enough and I was proved wrong on both occasions :52: :56:

He might not even start Bitton! But, I really am worried about Bitton having a brain fart moment and we concede an away goal.

Really surprised Brendan hasn't gone for a centre half. Hope he doesn't regret it.

Can already tell he's going to be made scapegoat if anything goes wrong tonight.

Calling it now, the big man is going to score a header from a set piece tonight, Griffiths delivery.

Get that feeling too. Will gain most attention as he's the only player playing out of position, plus with his episode Friday, could be a tense night for us all.

Can't be getting on his back tonight. The guy needs to be 100% focused.
As long as he keeps the line with jozo and doesn't * about too much (I.e. clear his lines) * be fine.
Feel a few dodgy passes and the crowd will be right on his case.

If he does, then it'll be off the back of his own performance.

Exactly, I'll criticise him if he's bad and praise him if good... He's getting stick cause he's looking muck at CB... Against mediocre opposition that's the only reason why he's getting away with it

    Defensively doing fine.

Balls over the top are always good but just needs to tighten up his through balls from defence or just hand it off.

I get he's trying to go direct to hit our pace but if they're closing lanes, just give up and go safe.

Anyway, 2-0, no need for risky passes now.

Another superb performance in an important game. :notworthy

Delighted Brendan showed faith in him, then again Brendan knows what he's doing so once again let's leave the selection decisions to the great man, they tend to pay off.

So * happy for him :62: Most wanted him punted but the big man is an important part of the team again.

Rodgers just specifically went over and praised him and told the fans to do the same, love it!
