He says the word 'great' doesn't do it justice, so you say it again?

Midfeild their is more players and gets tight at centre back it's three of your own players and two strikers coming at you so their is less pressure at times

The ability to go from back to front with accuracy can't be underestimated when trying to break teams down..

Bitton gives us that and it will be interesting to see how he develops in that position. Having the extra time in possession really suits him.

There may be a CB in him yet.

For his part Bitton is relishing his new role in the team, with boss Brendan Rodgers delighted the 25-year-old’s able to use his passing ability from the back.

“It doesn’t matter where I play. As long as the gaffer gives me my chance in the team I will do my best.

“Our centre-backs have been really unlucky to get injured and I have to play. I feel sorry for Erik Sviatchenko because it’s not the best to be injured. I hope they come back soon and stronger.

“But I’ve played there a few times before and it’s similar to defensive midfield. If you are a professional you need to be able to adapt, and do your best.

“And I will always do my best to help the team.

“Centre-back is not about being a hard man. If you look at centre-backs in the biggest clubs in Europe they are not the strongest or the quickest.

“But they can read the game and understand the position. I will do my best.

“Some managers like to play long balls and fighting for second balls. But Brendan Rodgers’ philosophy is about moving the ball quickly, keeping possession, and not just kicking the ball up the pitch.

“I think all the centre-backs at Celtic can play out from the back. Hopefully I can help the team like I did for the first goal.

“I don’t look at it like it’s my best chance to stay in the team or not.

“When you play for Celtic there’s always competition no matter what position you play. I was brought here as a midfielder but I’m now playing centre-back. I just enjoy playing.”

Bitton, meanwhile, warned the rest of the Premiership that Saturday’s emphatic victory to kick-off their bid for seven-in-a-row was proof they’re no longer caught up with their sensational Invincibles campaign.

He added: “The manager said before the game that last year is over, it’s finished.

“Football is always about now, not what has happened previously. People don’t remember what we did last season.

“We want to go hard again and we want to win all the competitions we won again — and we have started strongly.”

NIR BITTON says he’ll only quit the club if he absolutely has to.

The Israeli midfielder wants to see out the three years left on his contract.

Bitton said: “Some people don’t understand that when you play for Celtic it is a huge club.

“Of course everyone wants to play — but it’s one of the biggest clubs in Europe. When you get a chance to play for a club like this you do your very best to stay here.

“You don’t leave this club for every offer that comes along. Of course every player wants to play and it’s not the same when you don’t play.

“But I will always do my best to help this club. Playing for Celtic is one of the biggest stages in Europe, every game I play here is the same as ten for another club.

“As long as I am here then I will do my best to stay in the team.”

Good, professional words from him there.

Gets a hard time of it so hope he can continue to do well for however long he is in the side. Some passing range on him, that has never really been in doubt.

Sounds like Brendan's put an arm round big Bitton. All sounds good, no noises or threats of transfers. Focused on making the team and hopefully this gives him the confidence to play to the ability we know he has.

I wanted him gone at the end of last season but after his good start to the season I'm reconsidering. Don't think anyone's ever doubted his ability but it's his work ethic always that's always been a let down. Here's hoping Brendan has sorted that out and we can now see more of the Bitton we've always known was in there. Not to mention he's proven he can provide cover at centre back and that's a always a bonus having a player who can comfortably play two positions.

What a fantastic attitude he has, must be a managers dream. Will literally accept any position and any circumstances as long as he gets to play and contribute to the team. Fantastic to see.

Seems to be somebody who has came from abroad and really taken the club to his heart.

If he keeps this attitude up then I will happily support him, just need to see how he reacts when the going gets tough as that's always been his biggest problem.
