He’s dangerous and the opposition realise that. He’s had a very promising start to the season.

2 goals and an assist in his first couple of games is exactly what I wanted to see. Confidence start to come, now.

He will easily get double figures for both this season. Wouldn’t surprise me if he posted O’Riley numbers.

The peacock emerges at Celtic as 'good lad' starts to find feet at champions

Nicolas Kuhn started out life at Celtic as one of the quieter members of the squad, but his team-mates are now seeing the “peacock” as he becomes more settled at the Premiership champions.

Kuhn, a January signing, has followed up an impressive pre-season with goals in each of Celtic’s first two league matches and right-back Alistair Johnston believes his team-mate is thriving from showing the personality and confidence to make himself a key player

Johnston said: “He’s definitely more comfortable now in his role. He’s understanding, and he’s finding that confidence. We’re putting him in a better position to be the player that he is and to understand that we signed him for what he brings to the game. He’s not afraid to show that.

You can see his directness and his confidence on the ball. He’s not just ‘touch and lending’ it. He’s now actually driving it, going at people. He’s a nightmare to defend because he can go inside, he can burn you on the outside and put it on to his right foot. So he poses some serious threats.

I think he’s really now picking up on the winger cues in terms of getting in at the back post, reading those kind of moments. He’s really kicked on and I think that will be a big level that he’s going to show this entire year. Nic is actually a reasonably quiet person, but he likes to have a good laugh and he’s a good lad. He likes to be a part of it.

It’s not a club where you can just be a small personality and expect to just go out and play 90 and then go back into the shadows. You’re in it when you’re up here. You’re in a fishbowl in Glasgow. So you’ve got to be ready for that

And again, every single guy that we’ve brought in, and even if they are quiet personalities like Nic for example, I think he’s learned over these past six months that he’s got to be a peacock a little bit – go out there, be confident.

“And when you do that, you’re going to play some good football and you’re going to be loved here.”

Where I am not totally on the hype, the last time Kuhn played against Obita at Hibs he was totally pocketed. Whereas on Sunday he gave him a very hard time managed to get a goal too. I wouldn’t call his goal on Sunday fortunate either, he got in the right place so Forrest had a clear option.

Showing glimpses of being the best all round winger at the club.. if Rodgers could do for him what he done for oriley this time last year we could have something really really special

Just needs to work on his decision making in the box and he'll be a proper player. Always looks a threat - like a paddy roberts with pace.

Grand old team to play for
Just watched the review of the season video and he made a similar pass to the one CalMac scored from at the weekend. Drew defenders to him then watched for his teammate making a run and popped the ball between the defenders with perfect timing and weight. Really simple play, but smart and very effective. Think he's gonna be a star man for us this season.

Nicolas Kuhn has always had potential. A Fritz Walter Medal - awarded to the top German youth talent - and Youth Champions League experience at RB Leipzig and Ajax attests to that.

Kuhn joined a star-studded list of winners for the Fritz Walter gong five years ago as he was earmarked for greatness in the game with Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz among recent winners.

The 25-year-old's previous clubs list also highlights the talent identified from an early age with Ajax, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig seeing something in the winger.

This season, Kuhn appears to be back to his best and delivering on the exciting and impactful playstyle with which he was credited when he signed for Celtic last season.

"That award is a really big thing in Germany. I was very proud and honoured to be chosen for the medal in 2019," said Kuhn of the Fritz Walter Medal. "I never saw it as added pressure on me. I just viewed it as recognition for what I had done in the youths.

"It was a big thing back then but now I want to show why I won that award. I still have ambitions to play for Germany alongside those other guys.

"When I joined Celtic, I wanted to play in the Champions League. After that, my ambition is the national team. I played in all the Germany age groups, from under-15 up to under-20.

"I was always one of the leaders in the teams. I was captain at times, and of course I want to show on the big stage one day

Every career takes a different path but right now, I am on a good road and I want that to continue.

"I remember Michael Reiziger speaking to us about our careers at Ajax. He was a great guy. He gathered us all together one day and said, 'You will all be professionals, it just depends on you where you are going to land'.

"I'm at Celtic now and I am really enjoying it.'"

Celtic will discover their Champions League league phase opposition later this month and Kuhn is raring to go in the competition having not previously been involved at first-team level.

He said: "I can't wait for the Champions League. It was one of the reasons why I came to Celtic.

"I am really looking forward to the draw to see who we get in the tournament. I always loved playing in the Youth Champions League.

"It was good to challenge yourself against teams from different countries and I had some nice experiences. We travelled to different cities and played against top sides.

"I enjoyed that tournament, I did well in it and now I can't wait to experience the real Champions League.

"Playing Man City and Chelsea in America also gave us a taste of what we can expect against opposition like that."

that’s a massive call Matt O’Riley only had like 36 and he’s not on Matts level I’d say more like 20

Aye, I'm going big but I really feel it. He's a different kind of player to O'Riley too, wingers more typically have seasons like that than no.10s these days.

I just think he's the kind of player who could be a complete g/a machine if he refines his game and gets his confidence up, which I think Rodgers will achieve this year.

He’s a good player but I still think 20 plus not in the 30s will be still a good season I mean palma had 20 last season and he gets slated a lot. I just think considering his career so far 30+ is a bit much but definitely 20 is much more realistic

Think he's gonna have a great season:
    30+ goals.
    30+ assists.
Hat trick in the CL final.
Successfully perform surgery on Kyogo's shoulder.
Fly to Saudi and convince the rich * to give us Jota back on a free.
Lap Daizen on a 100m sprint.
Knock out King Chuck with a rasper of a volley.
DDT Kris Boyd into unconsciosness in a charity wrestling match.
    Make Alan McGregor his geek.
Get in the Germany squad and grow an even better mullet than Rudi Voler.
    Marry Sabre from Gladiators.

100% confident of all of that happening. Well... unless he has to get a filling.

You can see why he attracted some big clubs at youth level and then onto Ajax and Bayern but also why he didn't make it at them. Gifted player but he's not put it all together yet.

Good start to the season though and another good game today.
