It’s yet another example of people putting far too much hope on one player, being disappointed after 5 minutes and not giving him a chance.

He’s proven he’s got a bit now, just needs to do it consistently.

It’s a losing battle trying to point out snap judgements on players both the writing off completely or instant overhyping balon d’or contenders after 15 minutes, it’s always going to happen. And it started with Kuhn before he kicked a ball with the mood around the club and the transfer business at the time, I looked into his stat write ups and stuff quite a bit when announced and that today is what I was expecting from him.

But I’ve had to check myself to not make my mind up on what he’d shown in his brief appearances, because honestly I saw nothing positive. But you need to give guys a chance.

My favourite example lately was Kyogo’s debut, look at his thread from around that 15 mins vs Hearts at LW and the reaction it got.

A lot borderline xenophobic, from guys who witnessed * Naka in Scotland.

Seems a clever player, just needed a clever striker yesterday, on the same wavelength and am thinking that Kyogo would have linked up with him bigtime yesterday if on from the start.
Right now, going forward, thinking Kuhn Kyogo and Maeda are our best option in attack.

That’s my slight worry looking at the way he plays and was setting up chances, he’s similar to the way Palma does it. Slows down, squares it up, then a wee burst and an accurate pass/cross.

Kyogo thrives on just smash it as early as possible to where you think he’s running, because he’s usually made the run and stole the space for himself.

Stopping and then cutting in to the better foot or stopping and going to the touchline on the weaker one when the defender expects to cut in, Kyogo’s already done the run, probably another one and by then is marked and crowded out.

But AJ and Taylor have been firing alsorts of early crosses in behind looking for early runs lately, so we have a mix just now. Because Kyogo’s runs will be taking guys away leaving the space for the likes of O’Riley. Finally, this far into the season, we’ve started to have a style thats got a bit of unpredictable play to it.

Aye he was poor no hiding that. But just in the door not played for a while, let’s be honest a bit of a shambles of a team around him too for the first few games. Also lost a lot of weight and nothing worse than basterding toothache, can’t concentrate on * all.

Hopefully yesterday is a sign of what’s the come :50:

    Hopefully he's ok.
First glimpses of quality shown and immediately going sidelined injured would be very Celtic nowadays though...

I also hope cutting to the middle/left will not become his only trick under a sleeve.

Thought the same during the game but he went on the outside in 2nd half showing a good turn of pace to cut one across & we should’ve scored from it. Idah completely fluffed it then can’t remember who missed the follow up.

Maybe that can be an excuse for his looking incredibly weak so far. Improve his finishing and his strength and I think he could be a decent player for us

I had no idea about the issues he had with his wisdom teeth and the weight loss and given that is now behind him and the way he played Sunday then there is hope there still that we have indeed signed a good quality winger. Time will tell but I certainly thought Kuhn's performance was one of the positives from the weekend.

    From BR presser today.

“In fairness to him, for anyone not working with him every day and seeing the difference, when he first came in he was in the midst of his break and I think he said he’d lost seven kilos," the Celtic boss said.

“You can imagine that when you are only slight anyway. To lose over a stone, I think he found that he’d lost his strength and his running capacity. So it’s been about building him up. I think he feels great now.

“He’s still got a bit of work to do. But I think you saw that much more aggressive [approach] in his game, taking people on, finding the pass for Daizen’s [Maeda] goal.

“It’s just adaption. He’ll progress I’m sure in his time but that was very good. He’s coming to a country where the intensity and the expectations are huge.

"It’s about settling into that and then finding your rhythm. Some can do it straight away. With some it takes a little bit of time.
