I understand what your saying about the way many people in the US would feel if * froze over and the Cubs were in the final. Having said that while I do despise the Cubs ownership my preference is more about the White Sox being the more traditional working class and Irish American team while the Cubs is very much the wealthy toffs team.

Probably not. They'd still be called Rangers. I don't hate them or anything, the only ice hockey team I have formed a strong dislike for is the Philadelphia Flyers. I'm not so into ice hockey that I can really love or hate any team to be honest.

I've put money on the Rangers to win tonight so that's them well and truly scuppered. Sorry lads. :smiley-laughing002:

Yep, I goosed it for you boys. Should have followed my heart and backed the Lightning. Numpty.

I think the better team won this series. The Rangers really didn't generate enough offense throughout the play-offs to merit a Stanley Cup Final place.

    We suck. Lol

Put Hank on the Lightning and they sweep the finals

Anyway, hockey is my number one sport and I am beyond depressed. See you all in 10 years when we are relevant again.

McDonagh not being at full pelt was a massive blow for NYR. Fair play to the Lightning though, not seen them outside of the play-offs but they have a fine goalie and top line.

4-0 Blackhawks. What a damp squib this has turned out to be. Switching off now. Bruce Boudreau is now 1-6 in Game 7. Seems harsh to fire a guy after coming within a game of the Stanley Cup Final but that's not a good record. Maybe something for the Ducks to ponder over.

Does anyone actually think that Tampa have a real chance of winning this? Everything i'm reading is talking about a blackhawks dynasty and suchlike.

They have home advantage which always gives them a chance but I think 4-1 Blackhawks

Yeah, I don't see the hawks having much trouble.

Having watched a lot of both teams in the play-offs I strongly favour the Blackhawks to win the series. I'm going to say they'll win it in 6. Tampa are a good team but the standard of hockey in the Western Conference final was noticeably higher than what I saw in the Rangers-Lightning series.

To be fair overall I think the depth and quality level is higher in the east but at the same time I think the Blackhawks are simply the best team in the NHL and I can even see them winning this as early as 5 games.

This video is pretty funny. Players that are mic'd up during fights.

    Blackhawks level it up 2-2.

Missed it last night but it's been impressive from both teams.

Fair play to Tampa Bay they battled every inch of the way and made Chicago have to really earn it. But in the end the Blackhawks were well deserved winners of a third title in 6 years. There were all sorts of fireworks going off all over the city for a while after the final whistle.
