Lucky goal on the winner for the Rags. Not gonna lie though, would like to see them in the Cup final again.

 

Mike Babcock has allegedly agreed an 8 year $50 million deal to be Head Coach of the Maple Leafs.

 

Best coach in the game going to the biggest hockey club in the world. The only concern for the Leafs is if his Stanley Cup, Olympic and World honours were due to the teams he was coaching and not his own genius. Time will tell. If he gets the Leafs a Cup, he will become the greatest hero the city has ever known. Tall task though and exciting times in Leafland.

But seriously, a great signing for the Leafs. Interested to see what he does for that team. Huge blow for the Wings as well.


As for the team in NY. Not liking how this series is going thus far. Don't like the match up against Tampa. I hope we find a way to pull it out...but I am preparing for the worst.

 

The New York Rangers don't do elimination still think we will win this series 4-2

 

If we win it will be in 7. I can't see Tampa not winning another game.

 

Worried about Lunqvist? 12 goals in 2 games wouldn't be against seeing what Talbot can do in game 4

One game away from the NHL breaking. Last time Tampa made the finals the NHL needed an entire season to reset. Really hope NY finds a way to come back again!

 

Hoping for a Ducks v Lightning final. Looking quite likely so far.

 

Any reason? The NHL would take a huge hit in the ratings if this happens. Read a few articles saying that the sport could wind up taking a big step backward in popularity if it does become a Tampa/Anaheim finals.

I post on a lot of hockey forums where I have not found a single fan outside of those areas that would actually watch that series.

I'd be pretty upset if that happens to be honest. I feel like I have been through enough as a Rangers fanatic to deserve experiencing a cup. It would kill me to see one of those markets get another one before New York (an actual hockey town) gets one again.

I like the Ducks more than the Blackhawks. So they're in.

I think the Lightning are a more entertaining team to watch than the Rangers. I find the Rangers a bit defensive and I have a natural aversion to any team that plays in red,white and blue and has Rangers emblazoned across their chest. :icon_mrgreen: So the Lightning are in.

To be honest, I really couldn't care about the TV ratings. If TV ratings are all that matters then let's just cut to the chase and put the Rangers and the Kings into the Stanley Cup Final every year. That'll be exciting. If Tampa Bay and Anaheim get there then they deserve to be there. New York and Chicago obviously weren't good enough to stop them. That's sport.
