THE Invincibles took another step in their preparations for next season with the launch of the new Celtic 2017/18 Away Kitfrom New Balance.

The striking design invites fans to Live the Legend of Celtic Football Club with features honouring the glory of Lisbon while looking to the future with a smart modern look.

Speaking after the new kit was revealed, treble-winning star, Kieran Tierney said: “I really like the dark green hoops on this year’s away kit. We’ll wear it with pride when away from Celtic Park this coming season.

“As a Celtic player and fan it’s great to see the club commemorate the Lisbon Lions on the shirt too. The Lions are our greatest ever team and they fully deserve this recognition in such a special year.”

The new shirt features a Verdant and Eden Green hooped design with a Gold 50th anniversary commemorative kit crest, NB branding and sponsor and is completed with a woven, buttoned collar and gold trim shoulder seam.

In a further nod to the Lisbon Lions, green and white hoops together with the black and blue stripes of Inter Milan feature in the inner back neck of the jersey.

Richard Wright, General Manager of New Balance Football said: “The contrasting green hoops look great on this year’s away shirt, which contains all the cutting-edge design tech of the home shirt and a smart fold down collar to finish it off.

“In this 50th anniversary year for Celtic we have included a tribute to the Lisbon Lions’ victory on each shirt, something worth celebrating for all the fans for the coming season.”

Tested at Loughborough University’s world leading Sports Technology Institute, the kit features a unique combination of bonded vents and zonal mesh structures to provide advanced cooling and performance benefits.

The kit incorporates moisture-activated laser cut vents in the under-arm regions that open in response to increased perspiration by the player.

The kit is completed by Eden green shorts and Dark Green socks with a narrow gold trim. To offer added support to the ankle, the socks have built in comfort zones and the footbed has been developed with polypropylene to alleviate excess moisture when the foot makes contact with the boot.
