    Another good shout.

I thought they might have made more of Isa and Navids moment in the last episode as well.

Looks like they are just wiping the slate clean and starting again.

They did have Navid staring at Isa's * in the first episode, before giving her the bluetooth mop.

If they are going to be back full time then there is no need to rush that storyline.

Still Game is more like Simpsons though, the characters don't age so it's like a new first day every week.

I'm trying to give it a chance but I just think it shoulda been left alone.

The first 3 or 4 series were probably the best Scottish comedy ever written, episodes that still make me laugh, but it ran on too long the first time around and the new ones already feel a bit rushed and don't have the same edge.

You can't help but think they are just in it for the money, the great comedy writers (Cleese / Gervais etc) know when to stop and move on to something else.

I actually thought that 2nd episode was easily as good as the classics. Infact I enjoyed it better. Proper greeted with laughter :56:

Not sure about the financial side but i agree with the rest of your sentiment. Me and the missus have being watching the old ones for the last couple of weeks on Netflix (on series 5 now) and they're brilliant on the whole. They new ones don't have the same edge for me either.....maybe i'm being too critical because of the hype and level of expectation but they're not a patch on the old stuff imo! The bath sketch in the 1st episode from when the dog's eyes light up giving it 'what's all the commotion??' is hilarious though.

They did nothing together for years, they swore they wouldn't after the death of Graham Chapman, but public demand and peer pressure kinda won the day in the end. Also Cleese was absent and refused to get involved in the later series' of Python, which, you guessed it, were rotten.

Anyway, my reference was more toiwards Fawlty Towers, a show that still gains new fans 40 years on.

Great comedies like Scrubs and Two and a Half Men were tarnished as well by running on painfully too long.

At the time the originals were out people used to say 'that last one was *' or 'that season wasn't as good as season 2 etc'. Nowadays most peope love every episode of the originals.

New ones have been good so far much better than some of the * that passes as comedy.
