I agree with the second part. If folk think the football is poor then I guess they think we need to invest in the team - which means we need all the season ticket sales we can get. If you're a Celtic supporter you're a Celtic supporter.

But I think the credit crunch is a bit more serious than you believe. I know folk in well-paid jobs who are having to think twice about year-long financial commitments, because they're not sure whether that job will even exist three months from now.

I don't have a wife & kids to support, but if I did they would take priority over the football (well, except on a Saturday, likes :icon_mrgreen:)

Fair point mate,i accept that i underestimated the effect the downturn was having on celtic fans. The fact remains that if you cant afford a season ticket then there are always seats available on matchdays.I thought the hypocritical bullshit posted by some on this post proves my point that they are bar room tims not real celtic fans.I am convinced they could afford it but use crap football and poverty to avoid going. Please understand this is not meant as a slight on people who are really suffering hardship i respect and pray their situation improves. It is meant for the halfwits who support celtic only with their big mouths, for evidence read the first two pages of replies to this post

Its hard to commit in my situation at the moment so I doubt I will get mine, passed it onto my dad this year, I'm in a situation where I dont know if I will be in a job or not week by week so to say I'm not a proper fan because I didnt renew is ludacris in my opinion, unless you want to pay it for me ?

Fair point mate,i underestimated the affect the recession was having on fellow tims.In my defense it was aimed at the saloon bar celtic fans who use any popular excuse to avoid leaving the boozer and paying money to support the hoops be it poor football or credit crunch. Please do not think for a minute this was meant for any family that is suffering.I can only pray their situation improves sooner rather than later. For proof of the saloon bar celts just read the first few pages of posts to this thread.Hai Hail.

I get what you mean mate :50:

Its just annoys me this subject a little, I have heard it from people over the last few weeks 'aw you didny renew' and all that bullshit, I would be renewing if I had a decent stable job and a good financial situation, the best I done was keep it in the family by letting my dad pay for it and he will be going to the games and hopefully he will let me go to the odd one if hes busy :50:

I replied in the first two pages of this thread and have just re-read them again and don't see how you can say anything posted is "hypocritical bullshit" that makes them bar room fans, halfwits or not real supporters.

People have numerous reasons for not renewing it doesn't make them any less of a fan and for you to insinuate otherwise is totally ridiculous.

Danni sorry for generalising but some of the abuse was not just uncalled for but way over the top.I fully accept there are numerous reasons for not renewing tickets and genuinely understand them, but iam talking about the guys in the pub that call celtic for everything when you walk into the pub after the game. Then when you ask them why they dont go its "strachans a clown am no going back till hes off,now its am skint canna afford it"thats after 5 hours in the pub.It makes me so mad.

just a quick word on the season tickets, i have a family member who works in the ticket office and was speaking to her today and the amount of season tickets sold are just over 41000.
