I was one of those who querstioned the wisdom of the radical changes done in the recent transfer window, and remain far from convinced that the path taken was the right one.

It is no co-incidence that the best run of results we have had this season was achieved during December, when there was the closest thing to a settled team. Now Im not saying that line up was perfect, because it wasn't, however following the O** F*** game at the start of January, it was apparent to all that we had outplayed the 'other team' in every faucet of the game, except where it mattered most - the scoreboard.

Now, we were already significantly behind R****** on the league table at that point, and doing monir surgery was what was called for, leaving th emajor reconstruction for the summer, as it is normally difficult to sign players in January, not least of which, clubs are reluctant to let their better players go mid-season, and generally those who are allowed to leave are surplus to requirements at their clubs.

Then there is the nature of the signings. 3 loanees are simply bandaids, short term solutions to long term issues. All these achieve AT BEST is to buy time. Going into the window most observers of Celtic would concur that it would be up front and in central defence that required attention, So, 3 strikers were brought in (which has now made the team top heavy) & 2 CB (1 teenager & 1 who wasnt match ready), along with an asssortment of others, along with the sale of players, some long overdue, some far more quizzical.

It could be argued that TM's 'January Revolution', has hampered the teams progress, taking several steps backwards. And I seriously doubt, despite how radical the changes that have undergone, that we are anywhere nearer to seeing a team capable of pushing forward again.

I do not want to see a return to the instability of the 90's, but there have been alot of justifiable questions asked. I still support the team and the manager, however, Mowbray has got to start coming up with answers, and the clock is ticking.

    Good post mate.

I can accept people asking questions of Mowbray if they can explain to me where they think he's gone wrong without resorting to calling him 'a *' or 'a loser'. :50:

Even though the December form was decent I was hopeful that would have been the last of the patchy stuff but right now I'd take a decent run in the league and probably sacrifice the Scottish cup to reduce the 10 point gap to something respectable at the split (5 points at worst)..
I don't think Mcdonald got injured against the huns so it's not like his hernia appeared from nowhere.. It must have been a case of delaying the operation untill after that game but we needed a striker to come in straight away.. With Fox going so soon after he was signed and no direct replacements coming in for Robson (N'guemo being away and Brown being injured) and only McManus as short term cover for Caldwell , it does make me question whether this season has been afforded to TM to try and get his own players in , with a view to next season being the main aim , with the loan signings only being taken on with a view to try and salvage a poor season.... Still undecided about that though and think it would be a poor show if it's the case..
