Believe It When I See It signed and sealed hopefully he can get back to his best we need him .
Not getting too excited seems like this could just be like Stan sign a new deal and we get a few quid extra but i think he will be off very soon.

Hope i am wrong because when Kayal is at his best he really drives the team on and that has been missing a lot this season .

I am happy he's close to signing. It'll be worth it in the long run.

His new wage will be 14k, hes on 7k the now. Not that bad, behind Ledley, Brown and Commons wage wise. It is well worth it if he plays like last season

Surely the contract issue must have had some impact on the players mind lately and loss of form,i remeber he was promised a new deal in the summer and it never happened, maybe he thought the board and management where taking the *

he wasnt great for isreal either so i dont know, hopefully it should give him a big boost,he was our lynchpin last season, hes one of the only players in our side who can totally boss a game

People thinking this new contract will guarantee that he will step up to the mark, is there *, no guarantee whatsoever that his performances will improve when and if he gets a new contract.

No player is bigger than celtic football club and Kayal seems to think he is right now, people have short short memories if they are now happy with kayal getting a bumper contract, did anyone watch the first half against Killie? i mean how can you forget that performance.

I think the reason for his poor preformances is his agent and the sooner he signs the deal he will be back to his best

Hope you're right mate. He was at the heart of everything good that happened for us last season and we need to get him back on to that kind of form. The difference in his performances this season and his performances last season are very obvious.

It has been mentioned in certain quarters that his dip in form has been, in part, due to the contract issue.

Personally I can see why contract negotiations could serve as a distraction but I also believe that if you have a contract and you know it is going to be improved then you continue to play well and give your all in order to ensure you receive the best possible offer???

Anyway, here's hoping this puts an end to the below par performances and we start to see the real Beram Kayal once again!!!

No matter what the future holds, at least the new buy out clause should be pretty hefty :icon_mrgreen:

    Hail Hail

Very odd timing, hope it happens though and hopefully he'll get his head sorted.

While there's no solid proof, it was blatantly clear to me and many others that Kayal tried to get sent off on Saturday. He'd had enough and just wanted off the pitch without putting up any fight. Turning his back on the fans, his teammates and the club as a whole. So let's double his money.

On form he's our best player and I do love the guy but nah, what he did on Saturday is unforgivable. Should be punished not rewarded.

Hopefully the negotiations are the cause of his form.

So the guy is allowed to go in the cream puff and show disdain for his team mates, his manager and the Celtic support because of his ongoing contractual negotiations ?

After the weekend I wouldn't care if he never kicked a ball in the Hoops ever again.

This whole thing makes me feel empty inside, I watched him closely on Saturday and i was ashamed that he was wearing our strip. He tried to get sent off, some may disagree but I very rarely criticise Celtic players so it really pains me to say that. Wild tackles dissent about a meaningless free kick on the halfway line, pointing and blaming everyone but himself. Now he gets his wages doubled?

The only way I support this decision is as mentioned before if its to get a positive reaction from him till we sell him in either jan or the summer, I am finished with the guy though regardless.

Someone made a great point earlier, samaras may have his problems but he is always banging on the managers door to play. Hooper and kayal could learn that from the big greek if nothing else!

Final point just because we are going to be paying him double wont mean he instantly becomes a good player again, it just means he is getting twice as much money! FACT!

Nope. I'm just saying it could be the reason.

You'd be happy if he left Celtic because of a bad start to the new season? Bit harsh.

Saturday goes way beyond a mere poor start. I'm sure you know that.
