    We don't pay good money by the standards of modern football. Far from it. The best players are overwhelmingly concentrated in the big 4 leagues because that is where they pay good money. This is our reality for a few more years at least. Do I think Brown would get into the Seville team? No. Do I think we're lucky to have a Captain like him for the wages we pay and the league we play in? Absolutely.

    Leaving aside the fact that the pic is not from the moment you're thinking of, what's wrong with that being his most memorable moment in a Celtic shirt? It was a screamer against the huns, followed by getting it right up the scum. Plenty of great players have similar moments as their most memorable for the club.

    I dont think he will, but hopefully he wont fear doing so in time if he feels it necessary.

    Id guess Brown is very powerful in the dressing room, so im sure his position is safe until xmas anyway!

    Aye, i like my captains to be big strong centre halfs.....actual hardmen who dont need to act or overdo it, as opposed to pseudo hardmen.
    McNeil, Aitken, Moore, Ferdinand etc. Just a personal thing.

    None of these players are available for Deila , in fact some of them never even played in Scotland . Was one not in trouble for stealing whilst abroad playing in the World Cup. Imagine what the Scottish press would make of that .
    Whether you like Brown or whether you want to be argumentive it seems to me that Brown is the best captain material we have . He has been around for awhile and seems to intend staying . He speaks the language and as he covers most of the pitch during matches , he is naturally in position to let a player know what's wanted of him and to give words of advice . I don't know any other experienced Celtic player who could command the respect he does .
