If Commons doesn't like it then he knows where the door is, the guy is now 31 and he won't get the same contract he's on with us elsewhere and can't pick and choose his games anymore. I don't rate him at that stage in Europe and I'm not the only one. Also, Michael Higdon won POTY last year so counts for nothing winning POTY in Scotland.

And I did answer you, a baboon could have captained Celtic to the last 3 titles in the circumstances and especially the last 2 titles.

 

I have ever said that, but he does look like a really good promising up and coming striker, added to that he's Scottish which is also a bonus.

agree about brown, but take the tinted specs off a second...commons did nothing of note in the champions league there, it wasnt just a bad game, or spell...we would of been better without him, you cant argue otherwise...in the league he is a 100% starter for me tho

Yes, of course I do. Now, Watt has more potential than Stokes or Griffiths ever did - but at the moment they are both better than him. They score more goals and are better all round players. I want to see more of Tony Watt in the team, but he is not currently good enough to be our main striker in Europe.

 

Without Wanyama and broon suspended, anyone would have struggled against that opposition.

I did read what you said but the point still stands and no matter what you say, you are dropping/selling some of our bigger players for these bigger games which is absolutely ridiculous. Stokes and Commons may not have shone in the group stages last season, but who did as we weren't good enough as a team. And you would play Watt ahead of Stokes, Griffiths and Commons for the groups?

If you drop the likes of Commons and Forrest (who still scored 3 goals himself during the Champions League campaign) for the Group stages and having gotten rid of the likes of Mulgrew, Stokes and Brown who the * would replace them with who we currently have? Getting rid of almost half of our mainstay of a team is lunacy. I could understand if they were * and weren't doing anything, but they are far from that.

what does it matter if it acceptable to commons or not? its no up to him...im no slagging any player at all, just pointing out that commons probably shouldnt start champions league games...hes more than good enough in the league, but i dont think he has it in him for the group stages, thats no me slagging him at all...could be useful off the bench
