Thought Cha at rb and Ledley at lb were strange ones. If we keep winning though Lennon can pick whatever team he likes

Brown assist for Forrest for the first goal, Brown screamer for the second goal both players in the starting 11 . Well selected Lenny

Most would have picked the same.
I was referring to him playing Samaras ahead of Stokes, Cha ahead of Matthews and Ledley ahead of Izzy.

I have said I support Lennon and am obviously delighted that he's kept this winning run going. He almost threw it away today and I hope he doesnt put out a team like that again. I also gave Lenny credit for his substitutions which is what this thread is about. His substitutions were excellent.

    I'm not picky.
He may have "put out the wrong team" today but he's hardly going down the same path again. If he was then would we have gotten 12 wins-in-a-row? I posted it in the Lennon thread earlier but in all competitions since the 3-3 Kilmarnock game on the 15th October we have played 20 games - won 16, drawn 3 and lost only 1. Within only 3 months we have went from 15 points behind to 4 points in front. Not going down a wrong path in my opinion there.

He saw the fixes that were needing done early on and changed what needed changing. He brought Stokes and Commons on a couple of minutes before the hour mark so he saw that things were needing changed and done it. This time last year he would maybe have waited to see how it would have panned out before making a change so for me he's learned - and still is learning - that when a change needs to be made he does it.

Every single manager "messes" about with the team. It's called tactics. He picked the team today, had a set game plan in mind but it wasn't working so he made the changes. The same starting 11 can't get picked for every single game due to very obvious and varied reasons. The ONLY part of the line-up today that I didn't understand was putting Ledley at left back instead of Izzy.

We may have been a bit lucky with the win today but, again, you need some of that. Plus it helps when we have a 'keeper like big Forster between the sticks :50: Today's result showed for me that the team seems to have a never say die attitude about them again. They kept pugging away and got the two goals (would have been three if it wasn't for the cross-eyed * of a linesman chalking Rogne's goal for offside).

Today's win was an ugly win BUT they can't all be pretty and they all still count and it's win's like that, that can make us Champions :50:

You know its a squad game and Lenny has many options, and he puts his best team on the park for a specific game, we are all going to have differing opinions, but I think we would be better off backing Neils judgement at this moment as we sit atop of the league

Saw that these two weren't playing well today and promptly hooked them before the hour mark to bring Stokes and Commons on. Saw it needed fixing and fixed it he did :50:

EDIT: Commons played well when coming on BUT would ANYONE have put Commons into the starting line-up with the way he's been playing this season? I wouldn't have but I'm glad he made a difference when coming on.

True mate, got his subs spot on very happy with that. Don't think it ever was going to suit Sammy or Ki though!

Maybe wasn't but the way Sammy has been playing the last month or two I can understand why Lennon played him.

I'm just glad that he makes the changes when needed now and he done it with plenty of time still to go today and got the win.

After the first 45 I was getting nervous. We looked a bit limp in the final third. St Mirren were growing into the game and started the second half much more brightly than us and we were not getting on top although we were coping ok. Lennie's subs were spot on in creating a sense of urgency. Stokes even fell back to do some dirty work that samaras hadn't been doing. Commons made a few good driving runs into the final third and made some good passes, exactly what was needed to spark us up.
