Ye game was shocking and really surprised as his tactics and subs(or lack off).....he really has to just admit that he was wrong and move on....hopefully we can qualify,but my fear is the board not giving a * if we do and still give us * all money.
i really hope that the person that learned the most from the other night was lenny himself.....setup wrong,didnt change it,and gave shaktar confidence from this.....he really has to start manning up and not give us his long winded spiels about how we were the better team and *.....i think most fans are getting sick of that.....still support him though as the team.....but continue like this he will be leaving himself out to dry

 

the man does my box in . knew as soon as I seen the line up there would be very few chances created. shoehorns mulgrew into the side every game. why oh why he continues to put samaras up top, and on his own only he knows and very very rarely works.
the thing is the first 20-25 mins last night i thought we were playing a great game, the neat and tidy football is something ive been crying out for, for so long and it was the right approach. BUT when you dont have strikers on the park you will have a problem and when it started to slow and the realization that we needed to change things i.e. get a * strikeforce on the pitch even if if it was just balde up top and move samaras left. he does nothing. this happens time and time again over his reign.
never mind plan B and C even struggles getting plan A right
I actually thought during the second half when it was still 1-0 that we were gonnae end up with an even worse scoreline than we are currently staring at cause he does nothing to change things. could see the body language of some of the players too that they had no answers to get a grip of things, speed up the play and get a goal or two, again does nothing.

 

Hes learned nothing in 3 years.

 

Let's remember Lenny has steered the club in the right direction,got his tactics wrong on the night...

In Lennon we have the manager to take the club forward.. Can't smash the clubs wage structure for one signing and IF we don't make it through we need re-group and get signings that are not pivotal to playing CL football.

The worrying thing about Tues game is they believed more than us and that's down to the players!

There are some laughable posts on here but * me, thats the best of them.

Under Lennon, in the last couple of years we have gained draws in Rennes, a decent to good French team. Udinese who were the form team in Italy and at the time top of Serie A. Won away in Helsinki, Helsinborgs and most impressively, Moscow. Thus shedding he cant win away CL monkey off our backs. Lost to a 94th minute goal in Camp Nou and went undefeated at home in our CL group stage which included one of the best sides ever to grace planet football and a this season pot 1 CL team who went on to unluckily lose the EL final last season.

And you think that was lucky. Jesus * wept.

 

The thing that bugs me most about Lennon is that he never makes changes at half time when it is obvious the team selection and tactics are wrong, Strachan was like this too, stubborn, proud and too intransigent to admit they got it wrong.

The thought that was screaming through my mind last night watching that debacle at half time was " Get Balde and Stokes on at half time you useless * Lennon ". Did he do it ? Did he *.

 

Mancini at man city subs on in the first half that is a man who wanted to win and if his plan a was not working from the word go something had to change lol superb

 

naw its much better watching us slide further and further out of a game then made one or two changes in the closing minutes. then come out with * like '"we created lots of chances clear cut ones at that". whit!!?

 

I love all this "we created so many chances" patter from Lenny....We might have took these chances had a striker been on the * pitch

 

What I don't understand is why we had two guys who've never played together at CB, our best CB at LM and our best LM up front with two strikers on the bench? Why where we playing 1 up as Well? We were against some nothing team from kazakhstan not barcelona. We should have gone 4 4 2 with sammy on the left mulgrew at CB and stokes and balde up front. What chance does a lone striker (who isn't even a striker) have against 3 big CBs when we just cross the ball at him? Baffling.

 

If only we could all pick teams for games that have already happened.

 

the manager of celtic fc should not be indulging in nonsense like twitter engaging in arguments and queries from fans ,how he finds the time beats me , i just could not imagine men like stein , mcneill ,hay , o,neill or strachan getting involved in dross like that , am not lenny,s biggest fan but feel he is getting there we were let down by not attacking and clearing the ball from their long throws and corners . it,s only half time and we will be better on grass ,think shahkter think its over judging by their celebrations , get sammy out left mulgrew at cb its up front where lenny must get it right and his selection must deliver .

 

I think Lennon has to be the most frustrating Celtic manager in a long time when it comes to substitutions. They always come too late, 10 minutes after everyone has realised what needs changed. In my opinion, generally speaking, a player needs minimum about 20 minutes to have a decent impact on the game, but Lennon will insist on throwing a guy on for the last 10 minutes.

Our last 2 European games have been 2 of the worst Celtic performances in a long time but Lennon has come out post match and said he has been encouraged by the way we have played, the guy is kidding himself on. Even the players know it, with Lennon saying we played well against Elfsborg and minutes later Lustig admitting that "we were dreadful".

Another idiotic decision was playing 2 guys at centre back that have never played together, crazy.

But the one thing that really let him down the other night was not playing a striker and then after the game coming out and saying we should've done better at converting our chances, made him look foolish if you ask me. I don't know what Stokes has to do to get a game, maybe it's because of all the stuff with the police behind the scenes, I'm not sure, but at least play one of our strikers.

If Stokes doesn't start at Celtic Park next week then that'll be the last straw for me.

 

No offence but that's a crock of *. So we were poor with the majority of our pre-season games....and?! Did you watch our weakened side beat a decent Liverpool outfit by the way? I remember people calling for Lennon's head as early as August/September in the 2011/2012 season as well yet look what happened there. There's constructive criticism and then there's ridiculous knee-* reactions.

As for last season...well, I didn't realise that winning the league at a canter, winning the Scottish Cup on top of that, and getting to the last 16 of the Champions League was the result of us playing "utter *" If that's * then I can't wait for more of this season.

I think he seriously over rated shaktar with his team selection. But he should have changed it. And not late in the game. He should have changed it very early in the game when we were so much on top and it was so obvious that shaktar were a * team. We should have had 2 strikers on. instead we had none.

 

Agreed. For me, he overreated Elfsborg aswell.

I feel like playing a cautious/defensive formation against small teams sends the players out in the wrong attitude. He sends us into matches with about 50 excuses aswell... "artificial pitches" "long distance to travel" "a few knocks" "this is the unknown" ... not to mention that every pre match interview I heard before the Karagandy game - he just had to squeeze in that they beat Bate "who beat bayern munich at home last year". So *? Did we not beat Barcelona last year and get to the last 16? It wasn't exactly a home game for this team either. Instead of getting your excuses ready...just get the players pumped up for a game and make sure we win.

Another thing I heard was "all they did was kick the ball long" - I'm pretty sure we had 4 at the back & they only had 1 upfront... meaning we should have dealt with it everytime.

We have the resources available to beat a team like this without a sweat. In all honesty - they would struggle in Scottish football.

 

I would rather we had played stokes and watt up front and lost than sammy up there own his own with 5 in midfield to make it harder for them to get to us and still lose 2-0.
Every time they got the ball and came at us we looked scared as * and it was a shambles.
I don't know is anyone else notice but i though about the 60 min they changed slightly and came at us more often it was like they could see we was nothing to fear.
If there goal keeper could see our team have no goals in us before the game why cant lennon see it and play two up front.

 

Bate are ranked 61 i think and we are ranked 62,think he was pointing out this team could beat us if we dont take care.
Well he took care and they still beat us.
