not so sure. There are a number of repeated errors he has made. Playing Commons on the right. The Sammy on his own thing. The Stokes on the wing thing. He relapsed into the two wee wingers 4-4-2 approach that didnt work pre-Xmas in the game that lost the league.

I ask a question If Lennon was the right man for this to see what others thought ,,The 3 bolded parts in your post Hammer are spot on ,Im a big fan of Lennon and the turn around in the overall quality of his 1st team and the quality of football on show is a tremendous achievement from lets say ,the new kid on the block ,more mature managers than him never got Celtic playing football like that ,he will get it right .

Brings us back to the Mowbray-era; playing too many players out of their positions.
Stokes is wasted as a winger: he's been scoring goals for fun in the SPL, and should be a forward, playing inside the box.
Lennon should have took Samaras off before 60mins at least. It was obvious he wasn't making a great impact. But then again, What other quality striker do we have?
I say it's a learning-curve. No doubt upon Lennon's reflection on this match, he will realise his mistakes, and all we can do is hope that we have a win on the away-leg.

I love Neil and hope he is here for many successful seasons, but he got the tactics all wrong tonight. At home we should have played a 442 set up with Maloney and Stokes up top. Samaras was a non entity for most of the game. A square peg in a round hole. The midfield was too busy which meant that Ki and Ledley were unable to find the space to create. Wide playing Stokes on the left meant Commons was out on the right, where he is less effective.

Defensively they didnt creat too many opportunites. Luckily, a 0-0 draw at home isnt usually a bad result and we hopefully will have a couple of injured players back next week.

Knew we weren't going to get much joy with Stokesy out wide, he's been out there a few times before and hee-haw has happened, last night wasn't going to be any different. He's been in great form and should have been played right up top. As far as subs are concerned, Samaras should surely have been first to go. Crowd was on his back, he contibuted nothing and never looked likely to either.

    Just cant get enough
Sion would have expected to come here last night and be put under severe pressure.
bet they couldnt believe their luck when they saw our formation.
This negativity at home will get us nowhere and lenny needs to drop it ASAP.
We need to make CP an intimidating place to play.

At the start of last season lenny kept doin this mucking about with players positions and we didnt start playing well till he stopped it, once we had a settled team we started to play good football, so cmon lenny eh !!! please play everyplayer in their strongest position, all this tinkering is not needed and if they dont do the business, * drop them, and while your at it, get sammy to *, my 3yr old has more urgency and skill on the ball than him

we won our first 8 games :97:

Get off his back! We draw one game in a knockout tie and are no worse for it.
Infact it leaves us in the position to get an away goal meaning we'd need to concede 2.

Worked once but shuldn't be used as some secret weapon. You're right there.

And I wish we would jsut play our own game, 4-4-2 free attacking football when at home. There was no need to change the formation lastnight and it was very shocking decision be Lennon. Even worse not to change it when it wasn't working after 10-20 miinutes.

it was the team selection and tactics. we were facing (no disrespect) an unknown team from switzerland at our home ground. Lennon made a stupidly bad call last night. When the team got announced i was trying to figure out in my head what the * was happening. i thought we were going to play 4-4-2 .. its what we play all the time, we win with it, its our strongest formation, the formation everyones used to, but with the players he fielded, i couldnt work out what formation he was playing .. surely we werent going to play sammy up top alone at home?

but yes! more the game went on, stokes is out on the wing, and tbh me and the guys around me thought it was a 4-4-2 and were questioning why stokes was out so far wide .. by all means, play it away to a harder opposition, not at our home ground. and then the substitutions .. commons and stokes off? nahh ... sorry lenny, but should have gripped that game by the balls last night and punished them. cant trust you if your going to be making calls like that.

and our counter attack game DOES NOT WORK! can anyone else see this? we get to the halfway line and then nothing, we bang the ball around a bit. we should take a leaf out the other teams book and just run straight to the * goal.

now in all fairness too, the referee was a complete *

Bad tactics, wrong team selection and now we're told by Neil Lennon that Samaras brings a lot to the team, sorry Neil but I simply can't agree with that comment.

Samaras is basically not interested, yes he likes pay-packet every week, but does little to actually deserve it. If I put in the same effort at my work I would down the road, I certainly wouldn't have been given a two or three year contract.

I've had enough of this guy, if you have any sense Neil you'll get rid of him. It's players like Samaras that get managers the sack, so please heed the warnings Neil !!!

He didn't have any great options really, when you consider who is out injured, but i still he think he got it wrong.

I remain optamistic and have complete faith in Lenny. Result tonight was disappointing, but the tie is far from over, we still created chances and I don't see why, with Hooper, Kayal and Wilson back, we can't pump them in Switzerland. Remember, last time we faced Swiss opposition in a European qualifier, we got to the UEFA cup final. :50:
I am getting * off with this playing Stokes out wide though. A blind man could see that Stokes is no winger, he's a striker and a * good one, so playing him on the left is just silly, particularly when Commons is so ineffective on the left. I don't see why we were playing 1 up front anyway, considering Sion are about the standard of a decent SPL team, but if we are going to then at least play Commons left and Forrest right, so we have 2 effective wingers playing in their natural positions.

He changed the formation like 6-7 times during the game, it was totally madness and wrong.

He needs to realise that Stokes needs a partner who will play right beside him and not drift off to the hair salon during the game.

Oh and Stokes is a striker so please stop playing him left mid!

Love Lenny but he was tactically naive last night.
