"Lenny played the team 99.9% of us hoped for , that so many were thinking of Dubai .. im sure he will speak to there as they train"

That's true. So makes you think why was this fast, energetic, young midfield so poor against theirs. We stood off them, showed them far too much time, space and respect. Well the * excelled in this. Comes down to tactics. Why was this a continuation from the final. We all knew What they're style is. They've done it all season. You can't excuse poor passing and decision making with the ball but when we don't have it, there seemed little plan, fight, attitude to win it back. They closed the channels, doubled up on the full backs.

Lennon is a smart guy but that is twice, in a month he's been done by Gerrards lesser able but better organised, hungrier squad. The tactics of ours seemed to be talent will win the day is naive.
They won't change their style but we should.

Hardly drooling over them. Just being realistic, they have 4 away games in that time that’s the only hope is this slip up in one. Thinks it’s about time some folk opened their eyes a bit and realised the league isn’t a formality anymore.

I've just a quick look at their next 10 fixtures and I think you will easily get 5-1 backing them to win all 10 games so I would say there is an 80% plus chance they will drop points in those 10 games.

i know we got a fight on our hands for the league but i need to ask why do you think they will come back after winter break out the traps and we will not ? so you think we will drop points after the break but they will not it that right ?

Awful performance. We looked shattered but again they dominated centrally and just let us have the ball wide which we did nothing with. It is terrifying that Lennon says we didn’t deserve to lose. Ntcham should have started that game instead of Johnston.

Great man management and motivator, poor tactician.

Too slow or obstinate to adapt or make obvious changes within games.

Results during this 2nd spell have been good, particularly in Europe, but I think we’re still living off the remnants of Rodgers tenure. I’m worried that there’s no real strategy, philosophy or style to our game - the players have looked so disjointed at time’s, but given our resources and quality in personnel we’ve managed to pull through so far.

Didn’t say we wouldn’t just that we really can’t afford dropping more points as if can’t see them dropping many. They are playing the better stuff at the moment hopefully the break will stop the momentum a bit.

Yeah, that’s the worrying part for me. Rather than addressing the issues - subbing off anonymous players and admitting tactical fault he seems to think the last two performances against them are acceptable. I’ve never been as deflated after a cup win because you know we were 2nd best that game and winning only papered over the cracks. Needs to take responsibility and admit we need to up our game

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and most wanted the team he picked, but we had a settled side with an understanding between the players and Ntcham provides more composure on the ball versus Christies energy..

Forrest didn't kick a ball though so probably wouldn't have mattered where he played.. But with Ntcham and Christie in the side even if Christie was out of position, surely would have been a stronger option than two lightweight wingers, who were both easily nullified..

Hope that's the last time we see that v them, that system can work at Ibrox but only if Elhamed and Elyoynoussi are fit..

Played the line up we all wanted. How much of it is down to him is debatable but in essence they let him down.

Twice against them now they've failed to show their class and get motivated for this game, yesterday was worse as we were at home ffs, no excuses every * looked flat and devoid of energy.

Especially when it was clear as day they were feart of Eddie starting as they didn't come at us, almost all game with the same level of aggression and high press they have recently.

Completely agree. At half time I hoped he’d be thinking phew got away with one there and changed it but no. It is so strange given he seemed to flood his team with central midfielders his first time round.

I wouldn’t expect him to come out and openly criticise us so comments about not deserving to lose don’t bother me. He’s wrong, but I would seriously suspect he will be reading the riot act behind closed doors. We criticise Gerrard for throwing his players under the bus so I’m glad Lenny isn’t. Yesterday was a right sore one and we were never in that game, however I think the winter break is where he earns his crust; he needs to get that fire and aggression into our players again and potentially add one or 2 quality players. Time will tell, but this is going to go to the wire, and it shouldn’t. To a man, we are better, however I think tactically we were naïve yesterday and outfought

He has a big January ahead.

It's not a time to overreact as theres plenty of football to be played and we have a window to hopefully strengthen in. Wont hold my breath on the transfer front mind you.

Yesterday should stand as a massive wake up call.

For me that's the only positive, if we had won and went 8 clear we could have been less proactive in the market, hopefully its a chance to add more quality..

This is Lennys second window, let's hope its as good as his first.

But aye, we're used to frustration, so let's hope we get our business done early.
