See other than Bolton, did Lenny had any others offers on the table at the time ?

I don't think so, and I remember thinking at the time that he jumped the gun and took the first offer he got. That was a mistake and he probably knows that now.

Bolton were not the right choice, due to their money problems. But after his success as manager at celtic, he probably wanted the challenge of managing a club with a different challenges to celtic, to test himself.

I believe he would have been in the running for the Norwich Job that Alex Neill got and he should have waited for a better offer than Bolton.

The infrastructure at Leicester is apparently next generation in sports science and recruitment. The team that won, was also constructed by Nigel Pearson and in a relegation battle the previous year.

Much as I respect what Lennon achieved, he left us at a time when he knew his stock was relatively high and he thought he could get a club in England. He took on Bolton who were already gubbed and never going to achieve anything.

Now since he got sacked he is willing to work with the same board setup he spoke out against in the media as his reason for leaving. Does he think that it will be anything different? It is only 2 seasons since he left, let him go to different clubs and gain experience, then down the line we can reconsider taking him back as gaffer.

Did he give up his Glasgow home when he took the Bolton job? Does his son still stay in Glasgow?

I remember thinking at the time how easy a drive back up the road it would be from Bolton.

I dunno what Leicester's infrastructure's like, but as far as scouting goes, they all use wyscout. We use it as well apparently. It's a massive database full of stats with a huge library of game footage. That's how these clubs turn up all their players.

If somebody's having a blinding season everybody knows about it. There was a thread on here a while back and I heard them talking about it on the BBC the other day.

Scouting a good player's not as impressive as it used to be.

It's based on the similar amount of years both been in charge i.e. 2 years, and it's taking the better side of 2 years btw for Lennon.

If people are happy with Lennon fair enough, but for me, no, for me I saw too many failings.

I know stats aren't always everything, but I've saw 'success' being lauded around, I take that as actual honours. The only 1 thing Lenny has for me over Ronny was that initial qualification from the CL group, he did get us the year against Karagandy, but we were awful lucky in that and if the ref had done his job and sent off our stupid captain it woulda been a whole lot worse.

I don't like stats that ignore half of everything a manager done to try and make another one look better, it's * weird.

I wonder if Pep had of taken over Hannover would his stats have been the same.

Claudio Rainieri will need to find more success with Leicester to emulate the 2 cups MON won

I don't think so. Lennon left us a year too late to get offered a decent job in England in my opinion. His stock would have been at it's highest at the end of our last 16 campaign. However, after getting a bit of a going over in the CL group stages the following season, clearly his success from the year prior had been forgotten about by many down South.

Have a look at this link to the BBC website they cover the advanced level of sports science that Leicester have benefited from this season.
