:56: Coming from one of Ronny's blindingly faithful apologists.

Over the top love-in, also known as wanting a Celtic legend, who was very successful as the previous manager, to come back when we're at a particularly low eb.

    Righto. :50:

Lennon's main failings came in the cup competitions.

11/12 we played some * amazing football, went on a 17 game winning run then lost the LC final to Killie, then lost the SC semi to Hearts.

12/13 well beaten by St.Mirren in the LC semi

13/14 knocked out at home by * Greenock Morton (who finished bottom of the Championship that season) in the LC, beat at home by Aberdeen in the SC... Both finals were played at Celtic Park that season as well

I agree his cup record was poor but there's more that meets the eye than the bare result. Against Morton for example he gave young Rogic & Biton a start in midfield, only for them to turn in dreadful showings as we got swamped in midfield and created nothing. To be honest I think that's something we should be doing more of in the cups, blooding youngsters, our youth development needs to be radically improved.

He won 3 trophies in his time, so did Ronny Deila?

Actually Lenny had extra time to win an additional trophy and Ross County humped us.

Nope. Always been skeptical of Ronny, must be getting me confused with someone else. :50:

In fact have been against Ronny since his Stormfront days (or whatever they're called).

How many times in our history have we performed to that level all round or better? Like I said its far from impossible and we should be aiming for that, I just wouldnt be demanding it.

    Jock Stein League 1974/75

    P W D L Pts(todays equivalent)
    34 20 5 9 65

    Ronnie Delia

    P W D L Pts
    35 24 8 3 80

    Ronnie 1st place Jock 3rd

Conclusion:Ronnie a better manager than Jock keep him and we are sure to win the champions league

Its a comparison to show how meaningless the statistics can be without context. Does a losing a goal in the last minute away to the best team in the world compare to a 3-1 defeat to Molde. Both down as one in the loss column. What about comparing the home win to Barca with an equivalent on the other side of the scales?

The statistics would suggest that they are equals but does not take into account one team made the last 16 of the CL while the other went through the EL without a win.

I'm far from Lennon's biggest fan, but the very notion that someone would even consider posting the stat that both he and Ronny won the same amount of trophies as basis for an argument against Lennon is ridiculous.

It's as clear as day who the better manager during their time with us was. Not even close.

Lenny also won 5 trophies as manager, so that's a load of *.

    3 leagues, 2 Scottish Cups.

Right if Leicester can win the EPL, then who knows what we should be winning- with the right manager, players , tactics and team ethic...........I will have Lennon back if all the other fuds are pretending they are interested, but are really awaiting the summer EPL merry go round.
He is available now and could actually go in and do a proper handover with Ronnie for the last couple of games.

I've shifted the discussion about what constitutes a successful season to you into a separate thread.
