His first 2 years as a manager with us when he was still a rookie was used by posters, you included, as a yardstick to measure the success of our present manager. He went on to have 2 infinitely more successful years with qualification to the CL, our first away CL win and only the 2nd manager to qualify from the group stages of the CL. I judge him as a success in Scotland. How he does in England is of secondary importance.

Mourinho failed at Chelsea, but other big clubs will still take him on.

He did fail at Bolton, but there are mitigating circumstances.

Moyes failed at Utd and Sociedad. Rodgers failed at Liverpool.

I'm beginning to think you are at it.

How the * can someone not understand why Celtic fans are so protective over Neil Lennon?

honestly, if it's meant to be a wind up it's the * worst attempt at trolling I've ever seen.

I wonder how many remember Big Jock as a Leeds failure.

Rodgers got Liverpool 2nd in a year they were expected to be top 6 only, Moyes had the balls to take on Man United after Alex Ferguson wasn't going to be easy whoever got it
    Neil Lennon got Bolton relegated

Rodgers spent nigh on 300 million, Moyes couldn't have been far behind.

    FAILURES.

Lennon spent the square root of * all, infact was dipping into his own pocket at the end to pay the staff.

The * irony in this post:56:

So you think it would have been an easy job to keep Bolton up in the Championship this season?

I don't really know and I don't really care. It's as relevant to how he should be perceived by Celtic fans as Lennys time at Bolton.

Lennon, should he return, will be improvement on Deila and will improve the current team. He immediately improved Mowbrays bunch and then built his own team that took us to the last 16 of the Champions League.

When he left here, people were slating him about the fitness of the players and there was a huge Ronny Deila love-in after seeing some of the speeches he'd given, the way he talked about football (where he makes lots of good points)...people were even getting excited about the fact he lies on a beach in Brazil on his holidays.

Well, the guy lost the dressing room, he failed to take us forward and his team that was supposed to be so much fitter than they were under Lennon looked dead on their feet against a side from the League below us.

There's far worse squads in the Championship who stayed up comfortably

Was there another team in the trouble that Bolton were? Was there another team where the players weren't being payed some months? Was there another team where the manager had to dip into his own pocket to pay the staff?

    Come on to *!

Clough, Spearing, Davies, Vela, Moxey, Danns, Pratley, Wheater, Heskey...... not exactly the worst set of players I've ever seen, most of those have played in the premier league and Clough is a terrific young talent. Also have that former United lad Amos as a keeper. I don't think it would have taken a miracle to keep that squad of players up.
