I don't think I've ever called you or hammer a hun for saying anything about Neil Lennon.

I've never called either of you a hun for that matter.

Is that really the issue? The only thing worth focusing on is the fact that he took raw players (same as Ronny Deila) and turned them into multi million pound players (Not the same as Ronny Deila).

Whether he bought them or not is neither here or there, the fact is he took players in roughly the same transfer bracket and got far more out of them.

Neil Lennon was an amazing manager for us, and if he does came back I'd get right behind it. BUT I hope he's ready to start a new era. I think it's time for us to move on- Brown, Stokes, Izzaguirre, all did well for him at times (now I genuinely believe their time has passed), but I hope he isn't coming in thinking we don't need dramatic change, which he seemed to imply in his interview the other day.

Jesus, Lennon had a greater share of luck than Ronny Deila...

To be fair. It's not as if when Wanyama came here he was average and Lennon turned him into a class act, same goes for Virgil.

You could tell from day 1 they were top notch.

What I'm getting at though is that in some of these posts even going back a while ago(not saying yours) I sometimes get the impression that people think Lennon hand-picked many of these players. When it's simply not the case.

It's not a question about development for me or what he done when they got here, that can't be argued. He done a magnificent job.

I'm talking about who's finding these players. In the past couple years since Deila has arrived we seem to be struggling. Sviatchenko looks like one to buck that trend.

I don't think we need dramatic changes either.

If he can eek out performaces from the likes of Brown and Commons for a couple of years while supplementing them with some more shrewd signings then I really don't see the problem with that.

If they can't perform for Lenny then I'm sure he wouldn't be slow in dropping them anyway.

I Agree with that very good point you could tell from day 1 they were far too good for us and would sell for millions

The transfer market is all about luck half the time.

    Most transfers are a risk.

Is it a case of we aren't finding these players though or that Ronny can't get as much out of them as Lenny did with his signings?

Yes spot on, our scouts found two class players and they proved it almost instantly. People act like Lennon is some sort of genius who turns ok players into brilliant players with his magic managerial skills. :smiley-laughing002:

both Wanyama and VVD had very questionable starts to their Celtic careers.

Wanyama especially looked out of his depth for a wee while.

I think it's the first point rather than the latter.

Personally. We haven't found the same class of player since around Lennon's last summer window.

Deila has brought Biton and VVD on massively in his time here as well as made Griffiths really hit the heights. All Lennon's last season signings. So he has proven that with the right potential of player he can make them better.

Virgil had a bit of a dodgy debut, after that he was pretty much fine. Wanyama, maybe not think it was more of an adjustment period for him? He was a regular after about 2 months.

Van Dijk was class from the start. We lost 2-0 to Karagandy and you had a few idiots pointlessly throwing out insults, but generally everybody saw how good he was right away.
