His last season wasn't great. Can you tell me what has changed at the club from the reasons he gave for leaving, since he left? The only reason he want's back is he * up & took the wrong job after leaving, now nobody down south want's him. Lennon thought he would walk out of Celtic & get offers from down south & the only offer he got was at a cash strapped club on the way down.

I don't blame Lennon for leaving as he stuck to his guns after asking for certain things & wasn't willing to be a yes man like Ronny became.

Lets see how happy they are if we announce McKay or Coyle. Lenny is the best option unless our board want to step up big time.

We are at a much lower level now than when he left us. He may also believe after the loss of CL money for 2 years the board may value the team more and hold on to some of the players who don't command a huge transfer fee.

Sometimes as the song goes "you don't know what you got till its gone".

I'd rather have Lennon than those two but that's hardly saying much.

Yes if we don't want to step up. The thing is, the people that want Moyes do want us to step up. Those wanting Lennon must just be content with things as they are.

    He'd be another yes man.

You can't know this. This is just pure speculation. Just because he wants to come back does not mean he will do so unconditionally.

Edit:I would not mind stepping up with the signings of a few £10million players. I am a realist though so I just want us to get the best we can for what we are willing to spend

If the board had given Lennon what he asked for and backed him the way they should have then im sure we would be in a much stringer position now in terms of playing squad and performances on the field and we would have 1 or 2 more cups in the trophy cabinet. If Lennon gets assurances from the board that contributed to his leaving in the first place then i dont see why he cant be successful again with us...It worked out with big Ceasar when he came back.

I said in my earlier post. He gave the board a decision to make when he tried not to be a yes man & asked for certain things, then left when he wasn't getting what he asked for. The problem now is if he comes back it will be as a yes man as the board hold all the cards.

Within 2 minutes of the announcement of Ronny leaving, Lennon was already saying he wanted the job.

He failed at, no decent club in England will touch him. Do you really think he'd be making demands before accepting the Celtic job? I very much doubt it.

Lenny, left us when the going got touch, and Lennon was nothing special as a manager, in fact transfer wise he was a disaster, he left us because the board wouldn't spend money, well they gave Delia even less, we should focus on a manager who can work with young players and do it without a lot of money

He wants the job because he loves the club. Having little digs about him only wanting to come here because no club in England want him does not take into account how he stayed on through all the hassle he endured the first time around. The attitude of many posters toward a man who gave so much to Celtic is disgraceful.

Lenny changed his team every year he was here. Dropping those when it was needed.

They can be disappointed all they want. They won't when we're back in the Champions League and roasting the SPFL again.

It's not a dig, it's the truth. The best he could get after us was * Bolton. He failed there, so who is going to take him?

This "he stayed through the hassle" stuff again? Really? Aye he did, and fair play to him. Not many could have done that. But does that mean we have to suck up his * at every opportunity?

How is the attitude towards him disgraceful? Because we don't want his as the manager?

    Get a * grip.:smiley-laughing002:

Roasting the SPFL with those 79 points, canny wait.

Look, he had some great success as a manager here. But he also had some shockers. You can say all you want about the amazing signings made under his reign, but don't forget the countless duffers. And in any case, the scouts identify these players, not Lennon other than a couple.

I said before, but other than the CL campaign in 2012/2013, his time here was nothing special at all.

I don't find it annoying. Again, you're making * up to suit you. I like Lennon, why would it annoy me that others do?

What I find annoying is people saying my attitude towards a Celtic legend is disgraceful because I don't want him as the manager.

    It's * pathetic.

You imply that he is only coming back because he can't get another job. This is what is disgraceful. As I said in another thread there are plenty of jobs going in Iraq that pay well and he would probably not have the same hassle. If you do not believe he is good enough fair enough just say that but do not imply he will only go to us as a last resort.

Lennon left when the going got tough? Are you having a * laugh?

Was being assaulted, abused in the street, attacked at Tynecastle, * trying to kill him with bombs, posting RIP on walls in Ireland, threatening him on social media and sending him bullets not * tough???

Man you read some amount of * * on here.

    Exactly.

Look at the * he went through the last time and the fact he wants to do it again speaks volumes of the guy.

He could easily make a comfortable living as a pundit or do the after dinner stuff but he wants to manage Celtic even though he knows the baggage that will come with the job.
