A man that operated under Lawwell for 2 spells as manager and knows how it works more than anyone on this forum, surely hes entitled to an opinion.

He said he left first time due to Lawwell shafting him. Now hes sucking his and Desmonds dicks. Lennons never cared about the fans

    Serious question?

Because he’ll be angling for a third stint here.

Was watching an interview recently where he was asked about the abuse Martin received at the huns. Said something along the lines of "I've seen managers come up here and be here for years, barely winning a trophy but get nowhere near the abuse".

Thought personally it was a clear reference to Gerrard. As * as Lennon's Celtic team was in that season, I don't think he appreciated the way Gerrard often conducted himself at the time.

Coming out with his annual defence of Peter and Dermot again

NEIL LENNON has jumped to the defence of under-fire Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell.

And he has warned Celtic fans they will struggle to get better men in charge

The Celtic Fans Collective have called for boardroom changes.

But club legend Lenny, a Treble winner as player and manager, is baffled at the protests directed at major shareholder Desmond and chairman Lawwell.

He said: “I think it’s unnecessary, I don’t agree with it.”

Asked about finding suitable replacements Lennon — speaking on SunSport’s YouTube One-on-One show — replied sarcastically: “Good luck.”

Former chief executive Lawwell and Desmond gave Lennon his first managerial role in 2010 and he has remained close to them ever since.

The former captain admits he’s bewildered by the supporters’ stance given Celtic’s dominance over the last 25 years.

Fan fury rose in the summer due to a combination of a dreadful transfer window and abysmal Champions League play-off exit to Kazakhstan minnows Kairat Almaty.

It has gone up a notch since then, with demands for chief executive Michael Nicholson and finance director Chris McKay to step down.

But Lennon is adamant Irish billionaire Desmond should remain.

He said: “Dermot is a genius, for me. Not just from a sporting point of view, but an intellectual point of view.

He’s very successful, hugely successful, probably the most successful man I’ve ever come across, in terms of what he’s earned and generated and built in his career.

“He’s on an intellectual level of no one else I’ve ever come across.

“He is very forward thinking, always looking to the future.

He is very proactive, I have to say, in supporting Irish sportsmen, whether it be football, golf or Gaelic football.

“He loves his sport and he loves Celtic.”

Lennon also backed Lawwell, who retired as chief executive in 2021 after 17 years and returned as non-executive chairman 18 months later.

He said: “Peter is not only a great administrator but very astute.

“I fell out with him loads of times, as you would do, over deals or contracts or whatever.

“But everything he did was for the betterment of Celtic Football Club.

“Every deal, every decision made, the club always came first.”

Lennon added: “I think they’ve brought great success. They’ve fought many battles for the club — many battles they’ve won against the odds.

I just think the success the club has had since 2000 has been incredible. The amount of titles, Champions League, the Uefa Cup final, player trading, the money the club has, how well-run and sustainable the club is.

The health of the club is what they think about going forward.

They know they’re not going to be there forever, but what they’ve achieved on and off the field, it’s incredible.

“There’s no way Martin O’Neill, Brendan Rodgers, Gordon Strachan, managers of this ilk, would have come to Celtic if it hadn’t been for Dermot. No way, honestly.”

    Lennon is managing Dunfermline now.

He's probably the worst calibre manager we've had since John Barnes. All the titles he won had severe asterisks beside them, 1 against a Rangers side in administration, 3 with no Rangers in a league, another one where he took over with a 7 point lead and about 10 or so games left and then the final one was when the league was called short with 10 games to go.

He knows where his bread is buttered. He is an utter * of a man and has his burned any bridges with the support by now. His attitude to his job was stinking as well, he treated it as a part time job, when he got hauled in over his partying and boozing he was very quick to throw his coach and former team mate Alan Thompson under the bus. He's the type of guy who would throw his granny down the stairs if there was something in it for him.

As you can tell I have zero respect for him, he doesn't deserve any and any ex player or fan who comes out and defends the board - in particular, Lawwell - in light of what has happened should lose our instant respect.

I can't stand him anymore. Real rich coming from the guy that walked away from the job in his first stint as manager for the exact same reasons he's now moaning about. I wish he'd * off from doing pundit duty for us and concentrate on his job. *.

Part of the reason there's so much disharmony just now.. no wonder he doesn't see it..

Only a board as unprofessional as ours could offer a job to someone as unprofessional as him.

There will be more board apologists rolled out to try and split the support.

100% he knows there’s a chance the job is coming in the summer and is trying to get himself into the thinking of higher up and they would welcome a yes man!

wouldn’t be surprised when the announcement comes that “Neil is a man who knows how to win trebles”. Board have already shown fans thinking means nothing to them!

    A bootlicking wee reprobate.

It’s no surprise that him, and those who run the club get on so well.

Not a shred of accountability between them. Not even a mild consideration that their personal failings can possibly ever be to the detriment of Celtic.

Never can just * leave it.

managers like MON, Strachan, Rodgers may not come if it wasn't for Dermot - true.
But they also left because of Dermot - but more importantly PL. They have all cited the board in some way, Lennon included, for reasons to leave.

Lennon really has zero need to weigh in to this saga right now, but here he is, yet again, doing his bit to split the support and cuddle up to his pals, all while belittling the support as well.

    Well said.

They’d all rather criticise the fans and chuck players under the bus than admit they made mistakes.

    He’s a bootlicking *.
