I don’t know how many times this needs to be spelled out to you, but let’s try again.

The hatred of him does not emanate from any trophy won or lost. In actual fact I’m * delighted we didn’t win 10 in a row, as we’d still be plodding along with him spitting his snus out in our home dugout as we speak.

The utter disdain for him comes from the unprofessional manner in which he conducted himself as our manager, and the way he viciously turned on the thousands of people who supported him fervently during the most difficult periods in his life, and made him a multi millionaire.

The press conference upon returning from Dubai, and the interview after the Ferencvaros debacle will always be two of the most unprofessional interviews you’ll ever see in the sport.

He turned on the support first, not the other way around. For daring to question the hideous form on the park at a time when we couldn’t get in to the stadium no less.

If the supporters were listened to months earlier, we wouldn’t have been pumped in the league by a near record points total.

Tony Mowbray and Ronny Deila aren’t our greatest ever managers by any stretch. Do you know why they are still respected by the support and don’t get any grief? They aren’t grade A bams that take no accountability, and try and bring the club down with every interview.

Whilst I Agree with a bit of that and wish he'd shut his trap sometimes, he is going to be asked these questions and don't think it's really all that.

However no way am I delighted we lost the ten, actually I'd swap all we've has under Ange to get it, actually I'd even choose missing out on him, the huns were done that season if we won the league and we royally * it.

I do agree we wouldn't be in a better place than we are now teamwise, but huns would be nothing, now, they have got a bit of life in them and there won't be anything near that now happening under Ange, they will.win the league in the next few seasons because of that * up.

Nah that season probably ranks worse than them getting 9 or 2005 for me, * dat. Season was a total disaster with everything that happened and them going unbeaten in the league was a sore one too.

As for Lenny I don't hate him, but he is an annoying * at times and there does seem to be that sense he can't accept responsibility.

Sorry mate, but that is absolutely insane.

10 is a number, a milestone. It really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. We’ve absolutely dominated over the last decade and a bit anyway.

It’s only a thing in Scotland. Irrelevant elsewhere. No way that in Munich and Turin there was the same level of attention on 10 titles in a row.

They’d be the exact same they are today. Probably better, as they chuck money at it when they fail. If anything they stagnated and became complacent after winning one league.

They didn’t even get in to the Champions League the following season. Malmo put them out, and we still had the opportunity to get in to the Champions League despite coming second, losing to Midtylland.

Give yourself a bit of peace of mind. That title changed nothing. In fact, the only time they qualified for the Champions League was last year when they got in the qualifiers through finishing second in the league.

You say they’ll win the league in the next few years. If they do it will have nothing to do with 2020. They have gained nothing from it financially. If anything, they are still suffering from the money they threw at it.

You’d swap everything we have now for an additional title behind closed doors, just to say we’ve won 10 in a row instead of 11 out of 12? Madness.

That's a mental take. Ange is worth more to us than 10IAR and we would've regressed further behind under Lennon and Lawwell if the 10 was won.

It became a fixation and people ignored the big picture because it was 9 years of efforts building up to it - but that failure was absolutely the best thing for us. We needed a reset and landed on the best possible manager to come in and lift us up again.

I can see the points, although whilst I believe there is a lot of truth to taking the loss of 10, still think a lot of fans are saying over bravado, saying they ain't bothered.

What we're achieving under Ange is great but it's not something new, historic, Seville and the 10 was something I was thinking this is a lifetime thing and they never happened.

The leagues we have won have been brilliant, but none of them would come anywhere near memorable (yeah, they all are in a way) or up there with invincible seasons, Tannadice, Love St, Double season, stopping 9.

Guess I'm just somebody who wants to say I watched history in the making and maybe rightly in some cases the bigger picture, just not for me.

The fear is, with using hindsight of course, knowing how lawwell was operating and had Lennon got us the ten, we would have stuck with Lennon for another season.

We know for sure, Lennon is a damaging manager at Celtic, he isn't progressive or modern AT ALL and the fear of what would then become is all too real at times.

Sure maybe if we got ten, then maybe 11, but to what cost of the club on the bigger picture? Less and less chances in Europe? A more restricted backroom staff and footballing departments? Players becoming more stale and staying beyond their sell by dates?

It would have eventually all have became too comfortable for everyone involved, eventually with Lennon leaving at some stage and a bunch of players eventually on the way out and a rebuild needing done.
Lennon wasn't exactly great to rebrand and rebuild a side, he came with passion and fire in the belly, got the best our of middle ground players and done well enough. But he couldn't develop talent at all and would heavily rely on his favourites and not give new players a great opportunity - hence a lot of disinterest from some players by end of his time.

So, would ten have been good? Absolutely * yes! It's near all we all wanted at the time, it was an unreal time to be in as a fan, the euphoria surrounding it all. It would be history making beyond belief.

But it also would have massively set us back more years as a club and likely not have gotten to the stage we are today(at this time).

I'm more than happy with Ange and the players currently and thank the heavens we have them over Lennon. But I'll not pretend that the chance of ten in a row was so easily dismissed. *, it's the reason the hate and anger is so high with that period. That we, as a club, squandered it by being so * lazy and casual about it all.

We are now about to cement 2 in a row, under a manager that is progressive, adaptable and is setting the ground work for the club to thrive after he leaves.
We are playing attractive football in Europe, with ambitions to turn that in to great results, which will come. The huns have also proven to get to a European final, twice, during the era of financial dominance by the larger leagues.
So, we are very possible to go deep in to European football at times, no doubt about it. We just need to have it not be on the back of jammy results and sacrificing goats to the devil to get there.

I'd back Ange to have won the ten and I would honestly back him today to do ten as well if he really wanted to.
Is Ange ambition to stay that long though and go through what would surely be at least 3 "teams" by the time he got there? Who knows.

Personally think Ange has ambitions on making us stronger in Europe, and as I've always said - if we build our team up for Europe, then it will automatically be better than anything we need to skim through the domestic scene - which is the big issue the club and Lennon had in the past, to do just enough to know they was best in Scotland, but took the foot off the pedal in Europe. It also led to us becoming stale as *, as we had no motivation or games to test ourselves in with a view to grow and develop as a team.

    So....

Still * off Lennon, shut your hole, thank you for the memories and the good times that he undoubtedly did give us, but it's long long long over due that he * off in to a distant memory for us all.

As for the folk who still defend him and use the "he's asked a question, what do you expect him to say" * all is still the response.
A simple "I've said my peace on all of that, I just want to focus on my future and wish Celtic all the best".

Stop feeding the media and stop * all of us off.

There's a lot I agree with in your post there mate and looking back with hindsight Lennon leaving and us getting ange is a godsend.
But the end of your post, nah.
Lennon gave years of his professional career to Celtic, which, in the main, was very successful. Why should he not talk about it if he wants? I've no promise with that.

Not against him talking about his time, surely in a positive way.
But the negative stuff, the constant trying to defend himself and through anyone and anything else under the bus to excuse him, I've no time for that.

Talk positive about what he's done, his Barcelona exploits, the league wins etc, he has given us fond memories for sure.

But he never talks about that now, too busy letting the media ask him the "explosive" questions and happily going along with it.

We literally won a quadruple treble. That'll never ever be done again - how much more historic do you want?

The loss of the ten actually seems to get more attention than that feat and that very much suits our detractors and the Huns of this world.

Any time a Hun mentions it I just say we won 12 in a row actually.

It's not bravado. Nobody outside of Scotland cares about it. Us stopping the 10 imo.was more important because it was about protecting Jocks legacy.

We have a Quadruple Treble, two 9IARs and a European Cup.

The dead club have a single 9IAR which they died to achieve.

10IAR would’ve been nice but it would only been ‘one of’ our big achievements.

The way the Huns bang on about ‘stopping the 10’ reveals two things to me:

    1. They know they are the smaller club.
    2. They’re absolutely devastated their daft wee ‘most successful’ title is gone.

Oh, and it is gone. It’s a matter of time. I’ve said before, they might win a few trophies here and there to briefly get it back, but they’ll never open a significant gap to the point they can confidently make the claim.

Their only thing is gone while our several achievements are untouchable.

Yeah this post sums it up excellently, tbh.

I never thought we'd win 10IAR. Even back in 12/13 after they died I just had a feeling that the universe wouldn't allow it. Yes I was gutted at the time, but in hindsight we win the league and we don't get Ange. It's funny how it works out.

Our domestic success since the start of the 21st century speaks for itself. They can cling onto "stopping the 10" all they want, but it just sums up their little club, small time mentality these days. Thank * the stars aligned and justice prevailed after last season in the EL though. Them winning a European trophy would've been a far more devastating blow than losing the 10.

I really, really hope we can get our act together under Ange and be a European force again. We've won the big cup and that's a feat the huns will never, ever get close to. We are the history makers. Domestic cups are great but they're a formality for us now. I'm not taking them for granted (just look over the road), but we'll never not be challenging for trophy's in Scotland. The next step is Europe.

I never really felt overly fussed about the 10. I want us to win the league every year regardless of what number it is.

And although I lived thru their 9iar I don't consider it their achievement.

9 in a row was the lions and Big Jocks achievenent all they did was equal it.

Imo nothing the lions ever did should be broken, they are they greatest team this country will ever produce and they will never be surpassed so for me, watching * like Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham and leigh Griffiths break their record always sat a bit uneasy with me.

Fast forward 2 years and looking at what we got out of not doing it, a fantastic manager, a likeable manager, and a tremendous playing squad, playing some of the best football we've played in years v lennon and all the damaging nonsense that comes with him. Plus throw in the fact that winning the league actually didn't give that shower of * any real advantage in the longer term then I'm more than happy with the way things turned out.

If all he did was talk about the good times there would be folk slating him for not talking about his final season so he can't really win.

Some of the things he says as well are interesting. The stupidity of bolingoli and now apparently 2 others breaking covid mid season ffs what are you meant to do with that.
Players who wanted moves downing tools, as we suspected at the time and he clearly feels aggrieved at the treatment dished out to us regarding the dubai trip and subsequent action.

That being said, theres no doubt Lennon made mistakes and the recruitment for the 10 season was ridiculously bad which ultimately comes down to the manager. Bottom line is though, rangers had a freakishly good season and would have been difficult to stop regardless.

People saying the ten is meaningless or that they're even happy they lost is cope. It's just mental gymnastics rather than admit the other lot successfully got one over on us, which they did. The 10 would have been an insane accomplishment, something we could have * stuck up their noses for years to come. Fair play to them but we were atrocious, practically handed it to them.

Onto Lenny, he's a right to defend himself and his record. I understand people want to see more humility and accountability from him but he's just not going to do that. Number one, he's looking for a new job, he basically says as much, so he's going to talk his accomplishments up and his failings down. Understandable at this juncture.

But I do get irritated that he basically accepts zero blame for that year. It's understandable to criticise his team, they did down tools cos they wanted away, we could all see it. And the fans not being there was a factor, even the huns admit that much. But nothing on himself for failing to motivate or discipline them successfully. Nothing on the board for not selling and replacing those who wanted away most the previous summer. Not even a passing acknowledgement of his portion of the blame and that does rile me a bit.

As I've said before, it's not actually what he did, it's his attitude that's disappointing. You can defend yourself from accusations of singlehandedly costing us the ten whilst saying, you know, I could have handled the pressure better. Easy enough done.

He cost us the 10 twice. He let the players go out on the randan after the POTY awards before the Inverness game which ended our title hopes. Charlie Mulgrew admitted the players were hungover. So it's not just one bad season btw.
