Also, a meeting was arranged with Lennon, Liam Morrison, and his da when Bayern were sniffing about. Lennon didn't bother his * to show up. He stood them up. The ultimate professional as always

How? By not bending over backwards for a * 17 year old? Dembele probably learned more from whatever Lennon did that night than he's learned from anyone else for a long time. We know the hype around Dembele and it's been there for years and he's no doubt aware of it. We'd do well to keep him grounded, unless we want our very own Pogba on our hands.

The kid wanted to know if he was getting game time, folk thinking spoilt kid etc, I actually commend him for his balls to go and ask in the first place. Lennons treatment for youth players was apparent in both terms as manager, add to the despicable incident with Mickey Johnson telling a young kid to '* off' when it was already written all over his face he was ashamed and realised he made the wrong call. That's * poor management of a youth player from the off, played through most of the stages of football to junior level, not once have I seen a player get that coming off through injury. No concern, no support, just a mouthful of abuse.

No doubt he got things wrong. I'm not even here to defend Lennon. I'm here to call out some of the sadistic * people are still coming out with about the guy. It's time to move on. I don't care how much of a * he is. The hate in this thread needs reigning in.

Think I’m one of the few who wishes him well on his new role. Aye it was disappointing how it panned out in the last season he was here. I’d rather look at the success he brought us as a player and manager, than dwell on one bad season. Reading some of the * that’s been posted about him since he’s left makes me wonder are people that thick that they don’t realise how much of a snake it makes them look, why hate on a man that’s brought 10x more joy than dismay. Yes he had to go, he wasn’t good enough to bring us the success we demand but leave it at that and move on. A year on since he left and the handbags are still out from some, that’s an unhealthy frame of mind and you won’t find answers stewing in hate

Because it wasn't just one bad season. He was lazy and unprofessional during his first spell too. He never bothered to learn from his first stint or from what BR put in place. He blew the 10 twice

lazy? He’s one of a very few people that made a career out of being a professional footballer. Lazy is the last thing that comes to mind when I think of the traits that is needed to get to those levels. Unprofessional? Care to expand on that? Are we talking about the same guy here ? A man that spent his life training to be the very best at his profession, a man that we paid millions of pounds for to join us as a player, a man Martin O neill made our captain, a man that was made manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world and he got that post all because of his unprofessional attitude aye? He never bothered to learn you say, this statement is nothing but slander. You’ve no idea what he did or didn’t learn over his time with us . Learn from what BR put in place, what does that even mean? How can he learn from someone that is managing a different club. It’s those kind of statements based on nothing but speculation that does discredit to him

Still waiting for evidence of this bad attitude that dembele has.

All the evidence, examples ancedotes etc point to Lennon being the one with the issues and refusing to give the lad a chance.

Keep in mind this kid was two years ahead of his years in the unders, gets to the point he's too good for the u18 and chaps the managers door, to be told to "* off" as we witnessed he done quite easily with another youth talent who simply tried to play through an injury.
I've yet to see any evidence of dembele having a bad attitude.

Sure he may be overly confident, but who wouldn't be when you've been smashing it at every youth level and hyped up to *. You'd get to 18 years old with no b squad or colts or reserves, you'd rightly expect and want to be playing in the first team.
But not once have we actually seen this proposed bad attitude from him. Just get told it through the grape vine, even though nearly every one of us can admit that Lennon is a n utter * and useless at developing talent. He's a clique sort of manager with his favourites and does not like being dictated to, or told he is wrong.

    Exactly.
He even admitted himself when he got the job the second time, that he was leaving it to Kennedy and Strachan "don't want to change things" and assumed the squad would take care of it self.

Folk talk now about that squad, 4 trebles on the bounce, as if they burnt out and had ran out of desire for success. Truth is, they had a manager who was lazy and a terrible manager. they gave up trying for him completely.

First stint, the guy was half way out the door, till he managed to put a bit of fire in the belly of a team to claw back a 3-3 draw against Kilmarnock.

Guys dined on that as a "great motivator" for over a decade now.

Must be. I get that I'm one of the more argumentive against the guy. But some of the defending of him is unreal in here.

To the point, folk seem to be completely forgetting how terrible a manager he was.

There was a reason that the vast majority of Celtic fans moaned and sighed when he got the job in a shower the second time.

He proved that all correct by the end of his time here.

This is the bit a lot of people struggle with in this scenario.

He really is a terrible football manager.

I appreciate every good thing he done for us, as a player and a manager. His first stint, he was still young, hungry and had, as he would say “the fire n the belly”.

But, after the initial buzz of the first season, and everything he had to put up with,(which shouldn’t even need to be mentioned, as no one should need to deal with that in a professional or any capacity), the football was awful and the stories of his style of management just make it sound like it was a big camp for the lads.

Celtic should not settle for that level of professionalism regardless if it’s 2010 or 1888.

Sorry, are there actually people on here suggesting he wasn’t unprofessional?

His interview alone upon our return from Dubai is one of the most unprofessional things I’ve ever seen in any industry.

Some people think being a Celtic player entitles you to a lifetime managers job without any criticism.

    Remember, it wasn't a "jolly".
We just happened to take an injured (so * inured he was out for over a year after the jolly) player out, be caught drinking during it multiple times, and then said injured player caught COVID and * the team for two games.

    But not a "jolly".
Also ignore the fact, the first weekend he was allowed to travel across the boarder and drink, he did so.
But it's not a "jolly" because some of his players was teetotal and some for religious reasons, but they rest had a swally anyway, but it was not a "jolly".
