Even in his first spell there always a disaster of a result at least once. Getting pumped off St Mirren in the league cup semi in 2012/13. Another chance at a treble blown. Not to mention losing to Kilmarnock in the league cup final and then Hearts in the semi final the previous season

Maybe but I always feared the worst going to Hampden when Lennon was in charge then. Weirdly in his second spell we have probably got a better record at Hampden than at home

Still can't believe he's finally gone, felt as if we were gonna be stuck with him until the end of the time given the horror shows he kept surviving. Just shows when he was saying all that pish about building the team next season he was just trolling the fans, pathetic way to try & wind up the only fans who always had his back through his adversities.

He was always going to bottle it before the Huns came to CP.... why stick around to watch the filth celebrate never mind take the wrath of fans turning up to vent their feelings.

Wee spell in the first half of last season when we genuinely played some cracking stuff. Form dipped a bit again then after Dubai we played some brilliant stuff too. The game away to Motherwell in particular.

Then it all went horribly horribly wrong after lockdown. Its depressing as *

Yes - just listing things Lennon won as a player and manger is a very simplistic view.

The fact is that his second spell was IMO a disaster and actually looks better than it was due to 3 fortunate cup final wins (particularly the Betfred against Rangers).

The football has gotten progressively worse since he took over and this season has largely been an embarrassment on the pitch and he has been one off it.

People have different opinions on Lennon as a player and on his first tenure as manager - that's fine if the topic is his legacy. No-one is disputing what he achieved between 2000 + 2014 - the thing is that it has * all to do with the damage he's done in the last 24 months.

All this "Haters gonna Hate" * - I don't hate Lennon and I've never indulged in personal criticism - only professional.
I wish him all the best in the future (although I honestly think he's done as manager at any sort of top level) and I'd welcome him back to Celtic Park.

In terms of legacy - we should look at his contribution to the club over 20 years.

However, you don't have to be a "hater" to accept that it was a major mistake to bring him back and that he has dragged the club massively backwards in the last 2 years. IMO he should have resigned or been sacked 4 months ago. Listing stuff from 20 years ago doesn't change that

His legacy as a player is untouchable.

His legacy as our manager is in tatters.

    Good post.

I would add that there's a massive element of 'randomness' in football, even over the course of a full season.

In Lennon's case, he was massively fortunate to have Forster in goals throughout most of his time here.

Thank you for posting these results. I have no idea how did we collapse so badly one season after beating the 2. Serie A team that year, twice. Lennon either had massive help from staff which was fired, or...:39:
