Where did I say anything about the latter stages of European competition?

He had five months to prepare for Braga, six months to prepare for Utrecht, eighteen months to prepare for Sion. He signed a total of 20 players during that period.

He failed to secure group stage football in three attempts.

Braga had a good team then.

Utrecht finished the 2010-11 season in 9th place (of 18).

Sion finished the 2011-12 season in 9th place (of 10), and faced relegation from the Swiss top flight.

Yes he was rebuilding one of the worst Celtic teams I’ve ever seen. Qualifiers came too soon for the team to knit together. Whatever way you try and shape it, whatever way you try and ignore it, whatever way you try and dismiss it... taking over Tony Mowbray’s team and have a team competiting in the latter stages of Europe within 3 years is a * incredible achievement.

not sure if anyones mentioned it but i thought he got it spot on once we went to 10 men , lustig in at CB , taking the hit and putting Mcgregor at LB swithcing toljan over to the right , thought we looked a bit more settled after that

granted rogic should never have got on

on another note hes been back training for 11days now and looked like he was about to die just after he came on , something no right about that

He's not a natural athlete, mate. He'll take a wee while to get up to speed.

McGregor being at left back ultimately won us the game, that pass to Eddy was majestic

Also, I don't remember Lenny being backed with a 9 million striker or even a 5 million midfielder. I also don't remember Rodgers having the heart of his team sold out from under him. Remember what we used to spend under Lenny? We definitely punched above our weight under him. Literally all his star players were guys we found for an absolute steal (Virgil, Vic, Forster) or guys with flaws in their game that Lenny found a way to use for their exceptional strengths (Sammy).

Yup. He came out and said himself, if Van Dijk cost more than £2m then it wouldn’t have been sanctioned. That’s what he was working under. Imagine losing out on a player like that for the sake of £100k?

And while we're at it, the board better not go back to Lenny spending under Lenny. Edouard and Ntcham showed they were more than worth the extra money yesterday.

The Hu s have definitely closed the gap and the difference now is just that extra little bit of quality like those two that they can't afford.

    Aye it is.

People who want him as manager can say what they want but it all comes down to ‘he beat Barca’. One result 7 years ago.

Same people probably moaning about the club having no ambition under Rodgers now wanting a manager who had Hibs in 8th.

Really? You think the only thing Lenny did as a Celtic manager was ‘beat Barca’

    Only :56:

    That’s pretty stupid that.

I'd hate to have seen this thread if we hadn't won!! I still want him but maybe i'm not as convinced as i was before yesterday but i'm not gonna use one game to judge him. People would do well to remember-

    1. This is the rat's team. Lenny himself said he wasn't gonna change much. I love the way guys are falling over themselves to say that the rat would have had that yesterday sewn up and won it and other games out the park. How do you know that??

    2. Since the invincible season we've had some utter * from the rat's teams too and struggled at times!!

    3. We could easily be out of the cup if the rat had stayed.....Hibs were a bogey side for him!!
