She holds an open Q&A with the the press, pretty much every day. There’s simply no chance she can avoid questions on the countries biggest sporting institution jetting off to Dubai amidst a global pandemic, with case numbers and deaths going through the roof, less than a week after she had further tightened domestic travel restrictions.

This is what she actually said of the matter a couple of weeks ago, and it’s in no sway scathing or unfair:

"For me, the question for Celtic is what is the purpose of them being there," Ms Sturgeon said.

"I've seen comments from the club that it's more for R&R than training.

"I have also seen some photographs - and I don't know the full circumstances - that would raise a question in my mind about whether all the rules elite players have to follow in their bubble around social distancing are being complied with."

"Elite sport has been in a privileged position and as long as that is the case it's really important they don't abuse it," said Ms Sturgeon at her daily coronavirus briefing on Tuesday.

"I saw their [Celtic's] statement and have not spent a lot of time looking into it, but as I understand it the government gave advice to the Scottish FA about the rules around training camps in November.

"The world has changed quite a bit since then but it's not our role to sign off what a club does around these training camps.”

There’s literally nothing there that hasn’t been said here dozens of times over.

@Blochairnbhoy so I told @littlekennie not to believe everything he reads, because he was quoting this iPhone note as if it was gospel.

You asked me if the manager was a liar and I asked you for a quote.

    Still to hear from you.

People believing iPhone notes and WhatsApp messages, then allowing them to grow arms and legs are unreal man.

As if the Government have threatened to shut the game down if Celtic push this. Gullible as *.

Didn't she say the reason for the trip looked dabatable given the pictures that emerged? That questioned our professionalism.. She shouldnt really have commented on the back of a couple of photos.. The trip however wasn't necessary so that gave everyone a free hit..

She herself and a few colleagues have broken the rules too.. We could have had a dig about that as she freely commented on us..

Look, we did make ourselves an easy target tho by going on the trip in the first place.

Just read the full "transcript" as you all want to call it.

Lennon is full of *, contradictions and all over the place.

Not sure where you are all getting "4metres" from, the only figure he said was 3 metres regarding the plane conspired to 2 rows in front or back.
Not sure last time any of you was on a plane, but two rows in front of you is around 3 metres or less. So * knows what his argument is about.

As for the alluded change in protocols back in Scotland * us, it did not. Read that properly he is talking about the change in rules meant the travel for the two games recently had been an issue.
Not that the change meant suddenly 13 players were out.

He never once apologised, he talked about doing it instead of Peter, but he never once actually apologied either.

Guys a weapon. Get to *.

Look at what happened with the U-21 Scotland Squad when they flew back from Greece. Three players tested positive, but that only forced eight more players and two staff to isolate.

How did three confirmed cases only have eight close contact players and two staff flying and travelling on a bus? How did our one case end up with thirteen players and three staff?

The SFA apologised after the clubs involved complained. The clubs believe that if all protocols are followed that you shouldn't expect close contacts.

The close contacts had also returned to their clubs and they weren't told they were close contacts until far too late. Why wasn't there a review, shutdown or major complaints when that happened?

I know everyone is angry with the club and Lennon, but there is much substance in his complaints. There has been on numerous occasions completely double standards and contradictory behaviour how each and every incident has been dealt with.

On a number of occasions we have been dealt with on a harsher level.

Tbh PTT twitter account isn't what I'd take as a reliable source for much but I'll run with it...
So The obvious question here is then who, from the SG, specifically suggested football would be shut down if we pushed this ?

This isn't aimed at you Marie, unless you know the answer, but at whoever is believing this story.

Im genuinely still failing to see this double standard, in all honesty.

I don’t think we should fall into the trap of trying to extrapolate how many players have to isolate based solely on how many players are infected.

There’s no ‘harsher level’ here imo, particularly because there’s actually been no punishment whatsoever. Self isolation on close contact is required by public health guidelines, it isn’t and shouldn’t be construed as a punishment.

Also on that wee * Walker, he is one of a long list of anti-Celtic, ex-Celtic players. I've no time for him at all..

But, on the night of the Hibs game when I seen how much the Dubai trip has damaged our chances in that game, it was difficult to disagree with much he said.

    CELTIC SONG (CLASSIC)
Neil Lennon's comments are being discussed on radio Scotland phone in.
Every hun in the land is lining up to put the boot into Celtic, which is fair enough. Saying that what celtic gone was wrong and that we've been given so much leeway by the Scottish government, ( finishing last year's league early, being allowed to postpone a game when one of our players tested positive, winning last year's league in the boardroom not on the park and being allowed to carry on the Scottish cup final into this season so we could complete the quadruple treble) what the Scottish government has to do with it I don't know, but, when the suggestion was that all elite sports should be closed down the backtracking was collosus. One wee rabid hun who was putting on his best telephone voice said " we can't close down sport, we need sport, the people need sport, even politicians compete???? And most importantly off all ..... it inspires young people to learn about leadership ""

    Dis'it aye ?

Mad rabid huns having meltdown at any mention of shutting down league.

People can get caught up on who said something, rather than the content of their message, in either side of any argument. I’ve seen a bit of that over the last few pages with a few messages suggesting we should be backing the clubs stance regardless. Dangerous road imo, for both the individual and club itself.

No time for Walker personally, but he was completely correct.

I'd agree with the majority of this, but it's perhaps a tad early to say gullible just yet. Having said that I'd be astounded if there is a genuine source for this alleged threat of closing down football. Having said that if someone wants to null and void this season they have my full support tbh .. :giggle1:

Absolutely right - there is no doubt that these duplicitous * would take any opportunity to stick the boot into our club (no change there then).

If someone had made these comments concisely and calmly without ranting, it would have been much more effective.

The problem was Lennon. He came across as someone having a rant and trying to make excuses (as he has done for everything this season). Complaining about people questioning his position as manager - at 90% of clubs he would have been history months ago.

He has made the club a laughing stock this season. He pretty much demolished what Lawwell had previously said in his previous interview.

I have given up on the few remaining "Lennyites" on here - if we were bottom of the league and losing 10 - 0 every match, they'd still make excuses for him.

The situation worsens every day that he is in place. Unless DD is close to signing a replacement and is letting Lennon see out a few days, he should get rid of him immediately. Anybody who is prepared to part with money until it has been confirmed that Lennon is leaving has a lot more money than sense.

I didn't see Blochairn's post, wouldn't have posted it otherwise....only posted it because folk for were asking for where it was quoted.

If it's directed at those two then for reference, Blochairn didn't answer a similar question on twitter, came across his tweets while looking for that image.

Because the media asked the question at the daily briefing. There's a big difference between that being included as a central part of her briefing and her responding to questions asked by the press.

It was the same with Swinney. He was asked the question during a radio interview with the BBC. Nobody launched an attack on Celtic. They were asked about it because of the public and media attention that has arisen out of our mistake going there.

The number of players having to self isolate is based on the seating plans of planes and buses.

Us, Aberdeen and the SFA were all in agreement something went wrong when three positive tests resulted and eight more close contact players for the U-21.

Nobody is accusing us of actual wrongdoing in relation to following protocols. There is some questions about the pictures, but they aren't part of this.

Unless the U-21 team had their own Airbus A380 and we had a 737 then based on the seating plans there shouldn't be the ratio there is. Neil hasn't even mentioned the U-21 situation, but he has said that the space in planes that is picked as close contacts is bigger than expected. Far bigger than bus travel too.

Double standards when we were criticised for Bolingoli when we knew nothing about him sneaking off. Rangers praised for the same.

Christie frozen out as a close contact, Tierney cleared to play from the same incident.

    2 key parts highlighted there.

Don't act on supposition and make comment on things that you don't know the full facts of or haven't specifically looked at to see if there had been a breach.

A simple answer of, "if upon investigation a breach of law has been committed then we will act accordingly, as with all breaches of Covid laws" would have sufficed.
