Can he play CM? Sounds like the Brooney replacement we need.

There’s no reason to bring that into the point then, there was other players who were outstanding in that run, but Broony was one of them.

It’s like, Road to Seville, Henrik was the biggest reasoan but there was numerous others that deserved massive credit for getting there (Rab Douglas and Momo Sylla in particular, which is mental haha)

Just read the debate back again there, I know what you’re getting at and it’s a major thing but our full team hasn’t been defending in the same manner as the last European campaign, we had Forster to make saves like that one against Lazio at Celtic Park in the past minute, but that wasn’t as defending poorly, it was incredible goalkeeping

According to Juco James (don't know if you're interested in his data or not) we gave up a number of goal scoring chances in the first five games that had Gordon/Bain/Barkas been in goal for we wouldn't have qualified, the difference was Forster, Brown has to take a big share of the responsibility for multiple big goal scoring chances being given up to the opposition because his role is to shield the defence from attacks as much as possible, basically Forster was masking a lot of the weaknesses in our side, something that became hugely exposed this season without a keeper like Forster behind the team.

I don’t know how you can quantify that in stats, have you got a link to it?

I think stats wise we would have made more interceptions, more tackles and won more challenges last year than this year. And when we needed Forster to bail us out, he did.

But, I think when you don’t trust the keeper behind you the defence tries to cover too much, and that makes the defence weak.

It was somewhere amongst this podcast that Juco mentioned it but I can't be arsed watching it again sorry to find out when he exactly said it, but he basically said had Forster not been in goal last season we wouldn't have qualified due to the big chances we gave up. He also said (not in this specific podcast) that Brown was one of the worst CDM performers in the competition according to the data in comparison with all the other CDMs in the competition.

Juco James is a professional sports data analyst & also Celtic fan, I think he uses Wyscout for his data & other sources.

That’s not a thing you can quantify though. If Forster wasn’t in goals? Compared to who? I would trust Forster as far and away better than Rab Douglas, but look at some of his heroics on the road to Seville? Stats can be good, but that isn’t based in facts.

Also, why was Brown one of the worst? In what way?

I love a good stat, if it’s backing up a point, but there’s a lot of the time they’re useless.

i’ve always said, Joe Ledley’s stats against Barca when we beat them 2-1, will be some of the worst you’ll see but the job he done was one of the best I’ve ever seen. He stood between anybody trying to make the pass to Xavi and forced the ball away from him, that won’t be down as a tally for a tackle or interception but it’s one of the greatest most disciplined performances I’ve ever seen. Stat wise, it would have looked shocking.

It really is scary TBH, although not for the reason you mean. I remember thinking "Don Devleone" seemed a lot more mature than most people online. I assumed you were an *! I remember that Slaw was only a kid, but I thought that was unusual.

I need to be more careful with what I say, there are things I say on here that I definitely don't want to say in front of a 15-year old. I'm sure this has been pointed out to me before too.

I'd love to see Paul Lambert's stats for when he marked Zidane in the CL final for Dortmund. It was widely considered he did a great job; but Zidane being as insanely gifted as he was, I bet Lamberts duel percentages, etc were probably not great for that game.

You can't keep a man like Neil Lennon down!

Come on Lenny. Go out and win the Scottish Cup! The league cup played in November has been a catylist for our treble winning teams.. The beatifiul, esteemed, rescheduled historic Scottish Cup is that same glorious opportunity.

Winning the cup doesn't paper the cracks of this season and his limited coaching ability. Despite the calm due to our last 2 games, he is 1 loss away from the boot and even more fan revolt.

Your right mate, as much as I will always enjoy the Huns getting beat, it’s not as if Neil Lennon has actually did anything, it was st Mirren who beat them and great that they aren’t winning a trophy but neither are we thanks to Neil Lennon, Christ the team we lost to at home never even made the semifinals

And thanks to Neil Lennon we are still 7 points behind even if we win our games in hand, no putting a dampener just being honest
