Don't forget after summer we got off to our worst possible start in the league in * knows how long.

 

The acid test will be the next 2 old firm games , if Lennon wins those and we stretch our lead in the league he'll get the job.

 

A situation that was clearly related to the chaos going on behind the scenes.

 

Pretend for a second we never had Lennon before.

A manager who won 3 titles on the trot, and a few cups. We had a challenge back then.

A manager that took a very low budget team (built for £10m) to the champions league last 16 and bar a dodgy jet lagged defender * up and players illegally held at every corner/cross/free kick and forced Juventus into cheating to win.

He done a remarkable job in the English championship given the state of the team and zero investment, kept them up and still got zero investment and knew owners wanted new management


He then took a championship side to promotion that had failed previously and to 4th in the premiership with a budget of nothing.

I'd be thinking "* aye he sounds decent give him a shot"

If it wasn't Neil Lennon I'd honestly think the guy you were describing wasn't the calibre of manager we should be looking for going forward.

The thing I think makes Lenny a decent candidate is his knowledge of Celtic and Scottish football and the pressures that come with that. He did a very good job last time he was here -except in the cups- and he has answered the call when we desperately needed him to. Which will make him a legend for life, whatever happens.

The story going forward should be about the results on the park till the end of the season. Win the triple treble and beat the Huns and the gig will surely be his?

Aye I'd say the gigs his anyway unless the board secure someone of a high stature. I'd like Wenger tbh. Get us some more highly talented French boys.

 

I thought the Ronny Roar was a bit cringeworthy. And it was a sign of his weakness behind the scenes. He started doing it initially when he was under pressure (was it an away game at Kilmarnock?).

I don't think any Celtic manager needs to be doing a daft contrived "roar" on the park after victories -certainly not against Scottish teams. I much preferred seeing big Jock or big Billy watching the players take the plaudits.

 

I think we could find a better manager if the money and resources are still dedicated to it.

 

He's a more experienced manager now than gerrard with a better squad and more money and got us to last 16 , all gerrard has is a name but he's a rookie still learning on the job.

 

It was Aberdeen away, was a tough game, VVD last minute goal I think.

 

Of course, but we surely shouldn't be comparing ourselves to the Huns and the managers they are forced to bring in due to their desperation to try and stop the ten?

We should ultimately be looking beyond both the Huns and the Scottish game to bring back some pride in Celtic as a European club.

 

Because we had Rodgers , some fans might think we need to go big again with experienced high profile manager, but that's not always the case.

 

No it wont. There aint any old firm games any more. That clubs dead.

 

We already upgraded on Brendan Rodgers I don't think we would have the money to upgrade again.

Interesting that you along with others don't even want to give him the chance to prove himself. The only things he can't prove between now and the end of the season are his European credentials( an improvement on the snake) his prowess in the transfer marker(a big improvement on the fraud).
