    £500k allegedly.

I firmly believe the board had declined on sacking him in the hope he'd tender his resignation and they'd avoid paying that fee.

Some people will demand that Lennon should have offered to have resigned but realistically this is his last big job in Football Management probably and there's not likely to be a job with the media waiting in the wings for him.

It's a lot of money to forego, realistically no-one comes out of this looking good; it would have been far better to have had a sensible conversation back after the Huns game and come to some sort of mutual settlement. But that's not how we do things.

Just like when the rat was picking weakened teams to bite back at Lawwell for refusing to pull the trigger on his transfer targets, we the fans are caught in the middle of a ego tug of war. Watching our club being pulled apart.

Diego laxalt is the Canary in the coal mine of what's going on behind the scenes. The most recent addition came in a looked good player, who now appears devoid of what he's meant to be doing and has essentially been played into bad form. I genuinely feel sorry for Lennon and it appears for a while they players have essentially downed tools but the situation is unrepairable under Lennon.

Because being 11 points behind our biggest rivals in the league wasn't already a "tangible domestic failure"? They are so full of *.

I'd imagine that meeting today will be about some form of negotiation.. no doubt Lennon will be low balled, eventually and agreement will be made and then with money effected due to covid and the bOardk being the board we will bring in someone very underwhelming

    Pay him the money.

Not only because it gets rid of him, but it was them that hired an incompetent manager and put the guy in this position.

The biggest pain of all of this is me starting to not like Lenny. A man I was excited about as a teenager when he signed for us 20 years ago.

I think this is spot on. A few comments he made in the later interview he did yesterday were telling. They suggest he wont walk and is leaving it to the board to remove him. I.e pay me up.

Lennons done.. its just how much of his legacy he is willing to jeopardise for some cash now. By the looks of it he's going all out..

Just do what it takes for him out the door. He is a selfish * who left off his own back first time around. He wont leave. Just sack him and pay out his contract. Get him so far to *

Which is his right I think.

The club is already protected in the fact his contract is only a 12 month rolling one.

Of course if there's any way to squirm out of paying a bill, our commander in chief will try it. No matter the detriment to the club or people's reputation in the process.

I firmly believe that if we sat down with him after the Huns game and said "we'll pay up 80% of your contact but we need to go in a different direction", he would have accepted and a lot would have been spared. The damage to our League, European and Cup ambitions this season, Lennon's reputation among the fans and even Lawwell's reputation.

Instead we've put them all on the line to save a little dough, embarrassing.

It's more than just some cash tho. It's a sizeable amount, especially if, like people think it's his last decent job in the game. He has the right to want paid up. I have far more hate towards the board than I do towards Lennon. They'll do anything to save money and line their own pockets.

To be fair to him it doesn’t look like he’s got too many pay offs coming his way in the future, no harm to him but he’s sort of past the stage of posing for calendars

Like a broken * record at this stage.

I was prepared for the eventuality that this season might not go to plan, but for it to go this badly this early was unthinkable. Out of the Champions League, the Europa League, The League Cup and 11 points off the pace in the League by November is terrible - and Lennon will try telling you it's not a crisis? The board are content to let it go on for this long?

Performances were poor at the start of the season, but at least we were getting results. Our top players were playing poorly, but "it'll click" I thought. It didn't, it hasn't and it's getting worse and worse and worse.
We STILL can't break down organised defences, we STILL can't defend set pieces, we STILL can't deal with counter-attacks, we STILL can't press the ball well and as a result confidence has been draining away with every passing game.
It's not an issue with attitude, effort, desire, mentality, culture or whatever. We're badly set-up and not playing to our strengths, and the harder players try to correct things, the worse their decision-making gets and the more desperate and ragged we look.

You could go through every single player and point to a significant decline this season. That isn't just bad luck or coincidence, that is a massive failure in management. He's tried everything in his playbook. Formations, players, praise, criticism and now he just looks like a man bereft of ideas waiting to be put out of his misery. He should have been removed after Sparta at home. That was an embarassing result that capped a season of poor performances, but he soldiered on and we paid the price. Regardless of whetehr Lennon thinks he is thr right man and should get more time or not is irrelevant now. The evidence that he cannot arrest this dramatic slump in form is mounting, and the fact the board haven't taken the decision out of his hands yet is maddening.

He has the same dead-man walking feel as Ronny Deila did towards the end. Removing him now releases the tension in the support and changes the atmosphere. The right appointment gives the players a short-term bounce, and should fix at least some of the graing issues we have. A new manager now gets two dead rubbers against Milan and Lille to work on defensive shape, and then at least some relatively soft-ball fixtures to build momentum and win a Cup Final.

I worry the board is hoping we can use that run of fixtures to save Lennon.

What the * taking so long to sack him..... then you remember how long it takes Celtic to do transfer deals. Prepare for this to be announced 11:30pm, January 31st 2021.

While he is entitled to a pay off, surely Lennon is a multi millionaire? Any rumours of money troubles?
