He did well on Pointless, but I'm glad he's not on the next one.

Clearly testing out Dowie so he can assist him at Hibs :56:

One of the tabloids running with Lenny has agreed terms with Hibs. Hope he does well :50:

Some appointment for Hibs and can only be good for Scottish football. Lennon is pretty high profile. Scottish football is definitely on the up and that can only be good for us and for the profile of the game in scotland.

Was having a look on a hibs forum there and they don't seem to happy with his tactics, team selections and results of late. Does anyone think he'll ever make an impact elsewhere like he did here ?

I think he'll struggle tbh. Some jobs just work for some people, Celtic being his. Might be the passion he had for it as a supporter, along with some lucky finds in the transfer market that settled well here.

Seems to have reverted to the signing policy he tried to use when he first took the job here. Going for 'tried and trusted' guys who have done a job before in England, no matter the age.

Shinnie and Commons are both clever signings.

Other than that he hasn't altered the squad too severely, Grant Holt is the only one you could say was a punt on a player who was once effective down South.

Now he looks like a carthorse. Hibs fans need to be patient, I mean the main thing is he gets them out of the league which he is still well on course to do.

Doesn't matter how he does it. The style can be worked on when he gets up.

They are top of the league.

Hibs fans need to take a * chill pill and remember about the current state of their injury list.

Not seen any of there games tbh, just going from what they're saying. Think the worry for them is he started well but now they've hit a rocky patch and DU have caught up, now joint on points.

Saying he doesn't seem to know his favourite 11 yet, playing lump the ball style football etc. Hopefully turns it round and gets back to winning ways. Once Commons get a few matches (not sure how many he's there for?) in him, they'll get more goals you would imagine.

If he fails to get them promoted, where would he go from that ? Bolton was a massive mistake for him career wise. He should have held out till a less * up club came along.

It would be difficult for him to have a favourite 11 given half his players are injured.

    Hence the emergency loan.

I don't think Bolton was a massive mistake for Lenny, sure Bolton were screwed financially, but it gave Lenny a good chance to progress his managerial career in a competitive league. I think the massive mistake was us replacing Lenny with Deila to be honest.

I expect Lenny to get the Hibees promoted at the first point of asking as Hibs have some very good players in their ranks and Commons and Shinnie are good acquisitions, and then with a few more good signings, I would expect to see Hibs challenging for the No.2 spot with Sevco.

I'd be willing to bet a fair amount that Lenny will be a success with Hibs. Some of their fans need a reality check as to where they are at the moment.

In hindsight it was a huge mistake and one he himself admits to although granted their plight wasn't fully disclosed to him.

One thing you can say about Lenny is he loves a challenge. Bolton was a huge gamble for him but he did it anyway. Now Hibs is another huge gamble because their fans will be expecting them to get promoted when it's not going to be easy at all. That is some amount of pressure compared to say if he joined an SPFL team who are mid table and he just had to keep them up.

Why did he leave us anyway? Was it because we were tight with transfer funds? Or because we were giving him an assistant he had no say over?

    A mixture of reasons.

    1. We were constantly downgrading the squad for big money not replacing outgoing players with like for like quality with guys like Hooper, Wanyama, Ledley, Samaras etc all leaving and then guys like Pukki, Balde and Boeriggter being brought in, plus Lenny also knew he was about to lose Forster as well that Summer he left.

    2. As you mentioned when Mjallby was leaving Lawwell put it to Lenny that they would hire Deila as Lenny's assistant and that Lenny was to 'show him the ropes' if you will over the next season or so. Lenny of course gave the board the fingers and wasn't having it and rightly so.

We'd basically just been on the back of a great season in Europe with our squad but it was then being dismantled one by one and Lenny no longer wanted to be a part of that after what he had achieved the season we beat Barca. In all Brendan's time here he will do very well to equal or better Lenny's 10 points record in the CL Group Stage which was a phenomenal achievement.
