He's establishing himself as one of the best young upcoming managers in the game, it won't be long before other teams sit up and take notice and try and poach him. I can't see him leaving though, not for a very long time. The guy is a legend

The best part about him slating Hooper's hair is his hairdresser is Mulgrew's brother in law :56:

Done brilliant in the CL. Obviously we are pretty patchy is this very weak SPL (which is why Lenny stats - all stats- are totally pointless) but I think we will improve in the league now the CL is out of the way for a while. Lenny has built a very good standard of overall squad now, IMO better than that of MON or WGS. He also has a unique easy chance of doing 4 in a row or more. So, its happy days. The only thing which could spoil the possibility of 5 years or so of major success is if the club sells our best players and do not successfully replace them. Its not easy to find a Vic or Hooper in the first place and it would be hard to replace them even if we spend 4 or 5 million trying to replace each of them. Hope we can hand onto all our players for at least a couple more seasons.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon: One day I want to manage in the English Premier League

Celtic manager Neil Lennon salutes the fans at full time

CELTIC boss Neil Lennon has revealed he one day wants a crack at managing in the English Premier League.

The Parkhead gaffer enjoyed his biggest dugout success to date last week when he steered Celts into the Champions League last 16 with victory over Spartak Moscow.

The 41-year-old’s reputation has soared on the back of his young side’s European exploits which included a stunning 2-1 home win over Barcelona in the group stage.

And while the Irishman insists he still has plenty of work to do at Parkhead he admitted it’s his ambition to one day work south of the border.
Lennon said: “I’m ambitious and maybe one day if I’m still good enough a Premiership team might shine the eyes at me and it would be something to consider.

“I’m very happy here at the minute but who knows? This time last year I was thinking about resigning because we were 3-0 down at half-time to Kilmarnock and 15 points behind Rangers.

“It’s funny how football changes so quickly so I’m aware it can change quickly again.

“I love what I do here and have a great feeling and affinity with the fans and the club. But you never know where football takes you.

“I work for great people in major shareholder Dermot Desmond and club chief executive Peter Lawwell.

“They’ve never put me under any extra pressure. They ask you for excellence and keep pushing you so the working relationship with them has been fantastic.

“I’m a work in progress but whether something comes up later on in my career who knows?

“We have to work with a small budget due to the economic climate we’re in in Scotland. We don’t have the TV revenue the guys get in England.

“We’ve gone down the road of trying to get younger players and developing them, turning them into real assets while still trying to be successful on the pitch.

“I enjoy that and we’ve got a great bunch here. They’re young and at times a little naive but you get that with younger players.

“They’ve really excelled this season and shown great maturity in the games.”

Lennon admitted keeping a lid on expectations is the most difficult part of his job now after he sent Hoops fans’ hopes soaring by booking a place in the Champions League last 16.

He said: “The toughest part of the Celtic manager’s job is the expectation levels and trying to temper the expectations that come with the Celtic support.

“They’re very demanding at times but wonderful.

“I’ve been engrossed in the club for 12 years as player, coach and manager.

“It’s a huge club with a great tradition and you’re probably judged as a boss on your European exploits so to have the last 16 on the CV is very satisfying.”

But with Europe on the backburner for now, Lennon hopes to kick on in the SPL after Saturday’s 3-1 win away to Kilmarnock.

He said: “We’ve played really well away from home but struggled at home and I have to find the remedy.”

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Neil Lennon comes out with this sort of stuff you realise that the idea of a 'one club man' is all but dead.

He can go when he's been sacked.

Personally I think the headline is a bit misleading. They way I read it is he would consider it, later in his career, if he wasn't at Celtic. The headline makes it sound like he would leave Celtic for an English club.

If i was lenny i wouldnt do interviews with scots media and any quotes made from him shouldnt be allowed to be printed in their rags. They twist everything for their own bitter twisted agendas mainly the hatred of lennon and what riles them even more than the fact hes still in charge of our club he is actually doing a good job of it.

He has still very much to prove and should maybe concentrate on achieving a little more before even mentioning the Premiership.

I can't help but think he still feels a little hurt by some of us getting upset after a string of spl losses, from those comments in the article above. We had lost to Kilmarnock and Inverness and deservedly so. What did he expect?

So he has ambitions to manage in the EPL one day.........fair enough. He might be here for many years before he does that.

As long as he waits till the Return of the Orc's so we can have a good few years handing out thrashings, maybe ten titles in a row.........then he can go ;)
