Haha aye I spotted that as well. Took him a couple of seconds to realise who we'd got and when he did it was brilliant.

Its been a slow but steady upward curve over the last 2 and a half years from Lenny. He looked clueless only 8 or 9 months ago. Looked to have blown the league for a 2nd time, no CL football for 2 seasons etc. Just shows how a career can turn around in a few months. I think he is a far better manager now than he was. I used to feel he was a very tactically naive manager relying simply on winning by having the better players. But now he just seems to be getting his tactics right a lot more. Still learning though and so are the team. Winning the league and CL football are the job description of a good Celtic manager so this week he has finally ticked those two boxes and I think with the money from this we can start to snowball and have a purple few years now.

To think that when this rookie manager who almost everyone ( myself included) doubted would be any good took over we were absolutely *...
Lenny deserves so much praise. He's done so much for this football club and I think he deserves to be called a legend if we do in any way decent in the CL.. even if we lose all 6 games I'll be so so grateful for what he's done for this football club.

To take over from the debacle of the Mowbray era, strip the team bare and rebuild it with young exciting players, almost win the league in his first season, win it in his second and take us back to the CL is nothing short of remarkable.

Thank you for giving us our pride back Neil Francis Lennon.

We should sack him now and get a proper manager in before the Champions League games start.

Neil Lennon: I’ll be a donor for Stan Petrov

Neil's on wheels ... Lenny gets in saddle at Celtic Park launch of charity ride for pal Petrov

CELTIC boss Neil Lennon has offered to give bone marrow to cancer-stricken pal Stiliyan Petrov after docs failed to find a family donor match.
The big-hearted Hoops gaffer said he was ready to have blood tests to see if he can help ex-Parkhead team-mate Stan beat leukaemia.

Bulgarian ace Petrov, 33, is in remission after chemo following his diagnosis in March but may need a transplant to survive.

    Leukaemia fight ... Stiliyan Petrov
At yesterday’s Celtic Park launch of a 400-mile cancer charity bike ride for Stan, Lennon, 41, pledged he would “do anything” for the Aston Villa skipper. He added: “They hoped his brother would be a match but sometimes they’re hard to find.
“He’s doing well but if they can find a donor it can improve his chances. There’s a donor database but I’m sure we’d all want to help by seeing if we are a match. If they want to test me I’ll do it.”
Lenny joked on a bike and handed over a £5,000 cheque to ex-England footy star Geoff Thomas and two Aston Villa masseurs as they began their Pedal for Petrov ride to Birmingham. He added: “You can see what Stan means to these guys.”

Seen that myself, fantastic gesture from Lennon. I know it probably won't happen, but to put himself forward is such an unselfish act, that I know I probably wouldn't have the balls to do. Also shows how much Stan means to him and the club. I'm sure Petrov will come out of it ok, hopefully he'll keep fighting.

I'm sure they need to inject right into the thigh bone.

    Very painful procedure.

I think you're probably thinking of platelets mate. Bone marrow has to come from inside a bone - not sure on how they harvest it but I'm imagining it'd be pretty painful and intrusive.

Aw, sound like it would be quite sore.

Everybody should be blood tested and bone marrow and stuff like that at birth really. So that if anything happened to someone in your family theyd just look through a database quickly to see if people match, then if not look for other random people near bye and ask them.

Most people would do it probably even if they never knew the person, as not many people would deny someone a life saving oppertunity unless they were terrified of operations or stuff.

Just to clarify, I donated stem cells (equivalent of bone barrow) a few weeks ago and it was a total piece of *.

They gave me a series of injections in the lead up to make my body build too many stem cells. They then hooked me up to a machine that was very similar to kidney dialysis and skimmed it out of my blood. The injections gave me a bit of back ache but they procedure was completely painless (except I lost half my arm hair when they took the needles out).

It's a procedure called peripheral blood stem cell donation. Have a google.

    lennons celtic

    what i have noticed

NL term in charge of celtic has coincided with the club going down the young players route

i think this is also one of the reasons for our up and down performances

    they say youngsters are inconsistent

also midweek games and international breaks seem to take there toll on how our team plays at the weekend in the league

i think we need a couple of experienced regulars in the team to stabilise and encourage the young players

i find theres far too many times we are relying on 1 or 2 players and not playing team football

i want to see celtic playing attacking exciting football

i cant get my head around why these players can't seem to do it on a consistent basis it's doing my head in

dont they enjoy playing good football ???

You answered your own question lol. Young players have consistency problems.

When you add to that the fact that our only real experienced players are Brown and Sammy, who at times are * *, then you see the problem.

The experienced players Lenny has brought in like Cha, Lustig, Maj ect, are * * so I for one hope he never buys another one and continues with his policy of buying quality young players with a lot of potential.

he hasn't got what it takes, he ain't realised as yet, that there is no players that he puts on are able to get into the oppositions box, he plays pals, and give skillful players about 10 min max in games, he plays players that string out the middle of the park and that never go forward, and never get back. shocking to watch, and 2 banks of 5 murder our play every week we play.
