Neil Lennon **The Official Thread**

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by Hughesie, Jan 21, 2012.

  1. yes, they shouldve been spot on, but they werent. they were nowhere near spot on. no width in that side at all, had commons ki ledley and brown all in the middle. how the * are you meant to break down a defence when your whole midfield are within 20 yards of every other midfielder. lennon got it wrong.

  2. The likes of Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho (incidentally, three of the greatest managers in the last two decades) have often been pulled up for confronting officials immediately after the game, when a big decision has been wrongly called. They are far more experienced than Lennon is in the job, but yet they still get away with it. Nobody calls SAF a thug when he is getting in the face of the referee. Age shouldn't matter either, as he is still responsible for his own actions.

As I said, it's because Lennon cares. He isn't your stereotypical football manager and I personally, wouldn't have it any other way.

  3. As ive said a minute ago..his tactics should have been spot on..Ki missed 2 sitters and Stokes missed a sitter also..first half ended 70/30% of possession in Celtics favour..his tactics were spot on, its upto the players to put them away not his...we got a * decision against us which knocked us out..he had every right to go nuts.

I like Lennon but he isnt immune from criticism and today he got the team selection wrong. The players also let him down, and ultimately he let himself down at the end. In a week or so, this will be forgotten about.

But he does need to put a cap on his emotions.

  5. To be honest I felt like jumping the hoardings to chin the ref.

  6. The real embarrassment is Celtic fans slating Lenny for having a go at those cheating masonic *.

Obviously must prefer Mowbray style taking it on the chin week after week when we're getting cheated.

There's many things you can criticise Lenny about, speaking out against clear cheating should not be one of them.

  7. I`m no readin any more of this thread it`s just makin me :31:angry.

    agree with this

lenny cares about us, thats why he acts the way he does:50:

  8. Cheers people :50: Just calling it as I see it.

Far too many times there are knee-* reactions when we have lost matches calling for Lennon's head, saying the team are nothing but bottlers, Lennon's an embarrassment etc.

We got to those semi finals and finals and won the league for the first time in four years with a rookie manager but that's STILL not good enough for some people.

Instead of giving him time to build on what he has brought together let's get rid of him so another manager can come in and start building up HIS team. When HE doesn't bring the treble to us in his first or second year let's get rid of HIM and....well, you see my point :52:

  9. AH the cult of Neil Lennon..............Why dont you call crimestoppers cos somebody dont agree with your view of Saint Neil. Yes he has cocked up 4 trophies in two seasons, and he will contunie to * up cos tactially he has no clue.Trebles were there for the taking,so why not take them? Bullshit excuses about referees, we were outplayed for a full 90 minutes, and outsmarted by their manager.Ditto kilmarnock Ditto fat sally. So yes please sack him and bring in someone who knows what they are doing.

  10. Tellin ye, the huns must be absolutely loving this thread with all the glory hunters giving Lennon pelters..its you lot that are the embarrassment not him, Celtic should have buried Hearts today but certain players cant seem to score from 2 yards out..thats not Lennons fault. I sincerely hope that anyone that wants Lennon out stay in and draw their curtains when oor Lenny is holding up that League trophy! But naw..you's will be all givin it big licks..who needs enemies when we have fans like this eh?

  11. Pish, hearts were only able to beat us threw the referee, cheating a penalty against us. Mourinho would most certainly be at the referee if he was cheated like that !

Good point but Celtic beat Celtic today,we are our worst enemy at times

  13. I don't have a problem with it but didn't agree with how he went about it onto the park to confront him not a fan of that personally.

  14. It will be interesting to see all of the Lennon detractors come crawling back on the day we lift the trophy next month and hopefully skelp the diets into the bargain. Humble pie all around and not for the first time in the last two seasons either.

  15. What i dont understand about NL today was that after seeing the team capitulate, why does he then go onto the pitch? Someone please tell me what he had to gain by his actions. He knows the media and his detractors are waiting for him to act like this, and yet he does it anyway!!

Seriously......what was he expecting would be the outcome of his march onto the field? What benefit did Celtic or us or himself achieve as a result of his actions?

Its just playing into the hands of everyone that is not Celtic or Celtic minded. They actually want him to act like this now.......and he has obliged them.....again!

  16. Who bought these players?? Who picks the team?? Idiotic arugment.Buy and pick players who dont miss from 2 yards then no ?

  17. "Always cheated, never defeated"...

We have a wage bill that dwarfs Hearts and it is fair to say that not more than 1 or 2 of their players would get into our first XI if any at all and people still want to blame Masons and corrupt officials...

    Get a grip.

  18. We managed one goal which was offside. That is why hearts beat us today.

Complaining about a soft penalty is one thing. Complaining about a refereeing conspiracy about 2 minutes after scoring an offisde side is just plain daft.

I am a Lennon fan. But what he did today was self indulgent and served no point whatsoever.

  19. Yes with major help from a ridiculous decision from the referee.

People make out that he's a sore loser and blames the officials ALL the time whenever we lose but that's not the case. I don't remember him blaming the officials when we got beat by the likes of St Johnstone, Sion, Hearts (the 2-0 league match) and the filth (the 4-2 match) etc. He layed into the team in those sorts of matches.

If the team deserve a kick then he will do it but I think it's wrong to say that he blames the officials ALL the time.
