I'm not saying Celtic should do anything other than win, am I? I'm simply speaking from a personal point of view.

I've always believed that if we ever won nine or ten in a row again I'd * love it, but truth be told, as things stand in Scottish football, I probably won't.

We aren't beating anyone. That devalues the league for me, be it one in a row or ten.

The state of Scottish football is precisely the reason why I want Celtic to leave. I don't think anthing can be done to improve it. League reconstruction and the like, within Scottish football, is like rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic. I want Celtic to work away to get a life raft.

But to moan about not wanting Celtic to win 10 in a row because Scottish footballs *, and it will break historic records of old Celtic teams, while offering no solution or ideas to improve the situation, is just absurd in my opinion.

There are men who are far better qualified than I who have failed to come up with a decent answer to that question.

    Cheers, I appreciate it :50:

    Who?

Whoever it is you're talking about, and given the current status quo, I certainly don't think they would moan about Celtic only being able to beat what's put in front of them.

Ten in a row would still count though, the 9 in a row the original Huns done during the 90's was cheating it was paid for by money they didn't have, doesn't stop them celebrating it less

The men who actually run our game and our club?

What has that got to do with anything? I don't care who else is moaning about it, I simply replied when someone mentioned Lennon staying for ten in a row by saying that I don't hold much value in such an accomplishment considering the state of our so-called competition nowadays, that's all.

Of course it would still count, and yes, Rangers fans do celebrate their nine a row, but it's tainted, isn't it? They can pretend that it isn't, and that it measures up to our nine in a row, but anyone with half a brain knows that not to be the case.

I would consider us winning ten in a row less of an accomplishment and more of an expectation to be honest. Really, who is there that can stop us?

If we don't reign over Scottish football for the next decade I would consider it as a failure.

I await Celtic being on the cusp of 9 in a row with Sevco a point behind on the last day and you wanting us to throw the game to hand them the league.

Do you realise how silly that sounds now?

If that scenario ever actually happens I'll probably be more concerned with the fact that a club who were stripped of all their assets, dumped in division 3 and been through the comedy that is their story of late has managed to make up so much ground on us within ten years.

That was one way to avoid the point he was trying to make I suppose. So would you want us to win the League or not, if the scenario he suggested was to become reality?

I felt the same when Watt scored against Barca, I thought to myself, some 18‑year‑old from Coatbridge has just put us two up against the greatest side in the world, should we hold on to win this would be insulting to the memory of Jock Stein and the Lions for our current team simply isn’t good enough to be remembered for pulling off such a result.

Therefore I hope we concede three late goals, that way we’ll still get some patronising pats on the head for 'running them close' while at the same time preserving the memory of Jock and the Lions.

    Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way and we won. On the way out of Parkhead however, I lit a wee candle at Jock’s statue, said a silent prayer, <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:punctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:DontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]-->apologising for the disrespect before trotting off home to drown my sorrows.

I also took offence to some of the headlines the following day, for example the Irish News referred the team as 'Lenny’s Lions'. This was an obvious play on the Lisbon Lions, a swift letter of complaint to the Sports’ editor duly followed.

Obviously I would, but I'd be sad that one of our all-time greatest achievements would have been beaten in such circumstances by a number of teams over ten years who most likely wouldn't have been fit to lace the boots of our side who stopped Rangers 10 in a row.

It would be a hollow achievement for me I'm afraid.

Cool story, but you do know it has absolutely no bearing on what I'm talking about, don't you?

10 out of 10 for effort though lad :50:

Concerned? They will be our biggest rivals the second they are in the same league so you better brace yourself for it.

Who runs the game in Scotland?

'I simply don't want that record (10 in a row) broken whilst it's a one horse race and Scottish football is in the state it's in.' I'll ask again, what else can Celtic do for you other than beat the teams put in front of them? But to come away with statements like the one I quoted, while offering no ideas, solutions or support to improve the situation/scenario that Celtic currently find themselves in, is pretty pointless.

I disagree. I don't need to have a solution to hand in order to make a statement like that at all.

No Celtic team ever again is going to be fit enough to lace the boots of the Lisbon Lions! Does that mean we should stop trying to break any records set from previous teams? To break records, you must be a good team in the first place!
