Anyone think Lennon knew Ferguson was leaving a few weeks ago?? Lennon would know this speculation would come to him and he and Ferguson are in touch regularly.

I'm not sure why Lenny would even consider going there tbh. They are a mid table team at best with no hope and no ambition.

If he goes I won't be too fussed. He's done a good job and given us some great champions league nights but this isn't Niel Lennon FC. The show will go on if he leaves and well still win titles without him.

They have still achieved a lot over the past few years considering their budget and the teams around them, Moyes has built a very good team there and the manager that gets the job will be inheriting a good squad.. Do people honestly think Lennon would turn it down:rolleyes:

    Quite.

They're still a mid table club, though.

They've achieved nothing. The dont challenge for the league and are not in too many relegation battles these days. I think they may have got to one cup final in Moyes' time there. Given that they were winning leagues and cups in the decades previous to Moyes going there, I'm not really sure why he gets such a good press.

All he has done is keep them at a more consistent level. Ie, not challenging for anything. Also this budget thing is a myth. They have one of the bigger grounds in the EPL and they get the same amount of TV and prize money as the rest. If they are skint then it has to be asked where is this money going?

Celtic twitter releasing statements from Lenny. He says its flattering to be linked to the Everton job but that's all it is, a link.

"It's not up to me if I'm ready for England. That's for other people to decide."

Also says there is no official contact from Everton.

He's definitely willing to leave Celtic, that seems obvious as he hasn't ruled himself out. If he was offered the job he would take it.

Neil Lennon on Everton: It's nice recognition. That's all it is, speculation. I've got a great support, group of players and I'm happy here.

    From Celtics twitter page.

Says it all really. I don't think he has been approached but he seems gagging for it to happen.
