Don't know whether or not I'd say he's * up, he probably knew he was going to have a tough job there and it can only develop him as a manager. Doesn't he have * all budget?

I reckon he'll be able to get another job in England even if he does get sacked.

Bolton were well on the slide the second half of last season, that plus players leaving and * all budget to replace them meant it was an impossible job for any manager. Lennon was obviously too eager to take a job down south and he's taken one that was never going to go well.

If he had Bolton in the top half of the Championship just now he'd be in with a shout of jobs like the Sunderland one recently and the likes of that and rightly so.

What an absolutely disgraceful comment to make about a Celtic legend.

    Clown.

Crewe look in a similar position, think if he is sacked and that job is available he might end up there.

Bolton probably wasn't the best choice in all honesty. The fact that he basically has no money to sign anyone (which I'm assuming he knew before taking the job) and that the squad being fairly poor in the first place was always going to be a massive issue. In saying that though, who know's what sort of offers he was getting before he took the job.

Timing is a pretty big factor as well. Was there any decent/half-decent sides without a manager when he left us? If he had waited a few more months (he took the Bolton job last October) he could have been in with a shout for the Norwich job in January for example.

Was he not being linked with the Burnley job as well when Sean Dyche was supposedly off to Sunderland before Advocaat did a u-turn?

Can't say I'm even remotely interested in Neil Lennon (football manager) - left Celtic because he supposedly wasn't getting enough cash to spend..............then goes to debt-ridden Bolton.

Couldn't wait to get to England did oor Neil.

I've always personally thought that he opted to leave before the zombies got promoted (which a lot of folk thought would happen last season), in case the postman started getting nervous again.

Bit harsh, he's only ever wanted the best for Celtic in everything he's done. His time was up here and he's said from the day he left he'd give anything to come back.

Bolton are one of the first results I look for, along with the rest of the teams former Celts play for.

He left Celtic because he couldn't move us forward in Europe. To do that would either take a short-term injection of cash, or a long-term strategy which he maybe wasn't willing to wait around for.

I can't blame him for going to England, though the manner in which he was getting his name out there was a little off-putting. He could have held on for a more stable job, though. I think he was incredibly naive to go to Bolton.

Don't blame him in the slightest for leaving. A near impossible job trying to do well in Europe with * all to spend. Best players being punted with no replacements.

Only thing I'm disappointed in is that he didn't publicly ask for money from the board. Waited until he left before moaning about finances.

I'm the same. I think he probably left through frustration. He put up with a * of a lot for the love of Celtic and put his family through a lot- and then not to be supported by the guys upstairs(in relation to the team). I wish him all the best and see him as a hero of mine. I wanted him to stay at Celtic until he retired.

    Pretty much my thoughts too.

I don't blame Neil Lennon one bit for leaving Celtic. The board were effectively * him over. The club took in more than it spent on transfers during Neily's time here and yet the board still wouldn't back him properly. He'd taken the club as far as he could.

Bolton wasn't a wise choice of club for him to go to though. They have huge financial problems that won't be going away anytime soon. Getting out of there might not be a bad thing for Neily but the danger is that having a perceived failure in his last job might mean he has to drop down into League 1 in order to get back into management. I hope he can turn it around at Bolton but it's starting to look ropey for him.

He'll always be a Celtic legend to me whether he succeeds or fails.

Nothing harsh about it mate - it's the cold hard facts.

I've nothing to deny about him wanting Celtic to do well, but he touted himself away the last 6 months of his time here, so it was up to him where he ended up - I just personally think he had a bit of a cheek saying he was leaving a CL (or thereabouts) team because of supposed lack of financial backing, and ended up at Bolton Wanderers who haven't two pence to rub together.

He left because he thought he'd get a bigger club in England, nobody was interested, and he jumped at Bolton.

I wouldnt go out of my way to watch them, or check for the results simply because of Neil Lennon - much the same as I couldn't give a monkeys about Forster, Wanyama, van Dijk et al.

    Absolute nonsense.

He had plenty to spend, and was beaten by teams who spent considerably less.
