I wouldn’t worry about the passing.

He’s used to playing with better players in more space against teams who don’t sit as deep as these do.

Once he settles and gets to know his teammates tendancies the passing will be more disciplined.

Thought he looked good. One time he got caught out too high up the pitch but apart from that. He looks like he reads the game well and obviously a physical guy. Him and big CCV will be a sight.

Reckon there is a player there, done well, something confident about him, considering he has not played much recently.

There are rumours that Celtic are looking to extend to the loan deal with a possible option to buy.

Again it could be * coming from some Liverpool fans down here.

Iv no doubt we're looking at the option just incase he turns out brilliant. Suppose they'll see him in training so will have a better idea aswel.

I'm sure he was injured when we actually made the signing.
Overcame that, played half a game, got injured again.

No offence meant to him, but ccv, Nawrocki and lagerbielke are all surely ahead of him (due to the nature of him being an emergency short term loan for cover) and now Liam Scales is doing more than enough to merit minutes and should be given any opportunities that Philips would be getting.

Scales has done next to nothing wrong, with multiple cleansheets and man of the match performances to boot.

I'll be raging if Philips is shoehorned in ahead of Scales after these last few games.

Is he not quite injury prone anyway?

For me, it depends how good he is. It's mental the talent at the big English clubs like Liverpool that can't even get on the bench, just crazy. The last 2 defenders I can remember getting on loan from top English clubs where they coudn't get a game were CCV and Jason Denayer. If he's the same quality as those two then he goes in the team no matter how good a job Scales has done. The only way to find out if he really is that quality is to give him a run of games.

    Boyata as well.

Similar age and experience as Philips as well, maybe a touch younger.
One of those ones that just wasn't ever good enough for that too level, but clearly a top level player for us (mostly ha).

But yeah, don't get me wrong not a bash on Philips at all.
But if it's legit just gonna be a few months he is here and it's absolutely not gonna be extended or whatever, then id honestly rather see scales get that game time instead. He is deserving of it.

If we return him within 30 says can we get a refund?

Thought it was a good last minute piece of business in the transfer window, but now feels pointless.

With Bernardo there is, don't believe we have it with Philips (could be wrong).

He sorta reminded me of Shane Duffy, the way he moves and his stature.

Hope to * he's better than Duffy though :giggle1:

Nat Phillips we are keeping an eye on, he has rejoined the group but we just have to make sure with his ankle.

“But that looks much better. Hopefully (he will be back) for the weekend. No-one else who has been out injured will be back.”
