I've got a question. If there's a banned list published, containing some of the songs debated on this forum will people stop signing them? Say for example BOTOB appears will people cease signing it.

Just interested to know if people who feel so passionately about the IRA would allow our club to face possible sanctions IF it ever comes to it?:shamrock:

I dont know a lot but was it not the IRA that got the Republic made a Republic? therefore how could they be deemed terrorists?

Doesnt matter what others think anyway we will continue to do what we wish within our rights..

Everyone with a brain knows who the real terrorists are. The British Army. They have being murdering innocents and committing acts of genocide for centuries.

Yet when the IRA fight against this evil force they are branded "terrorists". Its ridiculous.

the only song that is sectarian is the fans version of the soldiers song.

"soon there will be no protestants at all"

I know mate I agree with you 100%

But I think the problem is where on the IRAs side innocent people have been killed too with bombs etc and thats where the problem comes into it

I say just keep the mention of the British army, IRA and religion away from football. Simple :31:

True, and I agree with you 100% but the media up here seem to label IRA/Rebel songs as sectarian (which they aren't) therefore giving people false impressions of what sectarianism actually is. I don't really hear any sectarian songs at CP. The bottom line is- Religion shouldn't be a part of football.

Let people sing what they want. That applies to both sides.
Your all happy to sit at home and giggle like school kids when Frankie Boyle make a joke about rape etc. , the stuff sung at football matches is mildly offensive, it's used to get a rise out of the opposition, or to feel as part of a fan-base. If your loosing sleep at night because the 'gers fans used the word * then theres something wrong.
Be a civilised model citizen outside those 90 minutes on the weekend, but the football is time to get behind your team and blow off some steam. It's the working mans pleasure. Lets not go to town with the p.c. brigade on this one.
Celtic symphony is a classic, keep it lit!

Britan has a long line of history of double standards eg "todays terrorist is tomorrows freedom fighter" depending on what party is in power or how many guns and bombs they can sell to evil regimes like Pol Pots khymer rogue/Saddam hussein and Mugabe...isnt it ironic they grant asylum today to Mugabes chief torturer...........lIBYAS OIL MINISTER WAS GRANTED ASYLUM OTHER WEEK....mmm i wonder if they want the oil?!!DOUBLE STANDARDS...* THE BBC

If you don't know the defination of secetarianism, then don't bother, which defines religious, the Irish Revotution was founded by people of different faiths, which reflects on our songs:50:
