Nice piece Stevie mate. I think this guy would become a real star if he came to Paradise. Here's praying that we pull it off and start playing the magificent football us Celtic fans are accustomed to. :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti :ynwacelti

Zura definitely needs good balls to score goals. I hope this is the guy who will make these passes. In Wisla he had Szymkowiak who then went to Trabzon, earlier he had left wing Kosowski who went to Kaiserslautern, now it seems he has nobody... - So it's good they'll sign him.

    This on BBC website

Celtic have admitted that they will not be able to sign Japan midfielder Shinsuke Nakamura before Thursday's Champions League signing deadline.

But chief executive Peter Lawwell remains confident that the 27-year-old will arrive from Italian club Reggina. "There is strong interest from Spain and Germany, but hopefully we will know one way or another next week," he said.

    Re: Nakamura

According to reports in the Japanese press, Borussia Dortmund and Racing Santander have entered the race for Reggina’s wantaway star, Shunsuke Nakamura.
Despite negotiations with Celtic, no agreement has yet been reached, leaving the door open for other offers.

The Scottish giants have still offered the most money, but as the Japanese playmaker has often talked about his desire to play in Spain, the La Liga outfit are optimistic that they can land the midfielder.

After watching both friendlies this week I'm afraid If we don't get this guy, we are in big trouble. We are seriously lacking in quality and we will be extremely lucky to get past the 2nd qualifying round of the champions league.

We have still got Stan and Lennon in the middle of Midfield, Thomson and Agathe wont be unfit for too long, so I am not worried. Would like to get this guy though, looks class

    Re: Nakamura (merged)

Need Aiden on the right side, this is what I want to see next season. We have too many strikers, whoever works best with Zuraw should play. Doing this would mean Mo and Agathe could bomb down the wings, and let Mcgeady and Naka drift into the middle of the park too dictate play, Petrov and Lennon can clear up and thread passes around while Zuraw applies the finishing touch (which he has.)
    Boruc/Marshall
    Agathe - Bobo/Kennedy- Varga/Virgo - Mo Camara

    Mcgeady - Lennon - Petrov - Nakamura
    Zurawski - Hartson/Aliadare/Beattie/Sutton/Maloney

    Re: Nakamura (merged)

Don't disagree too much but why put Zuraw straight in - don't believe the hype - i hope the guy scores shitloads for us but personally I would go with Sutton in yer Zuraw role and all the others fighting to play alongside him.

All this pish that we saw from MON and saw again tonight from GS - Sutton must be played somewhere - so play him in midfield - this only compromises the strengths of Petrov.

If the manager in his wisdom doesn't play Sutton up front then don't play him at all (unless it's to replace one of the two diddies at centre half)

(I know this is off thread so before youse all start i aplogise)

IMO Sutton is not agile enough to play in midfield, he has great ability as a player but is just losing his movement a bit. In midfield you need people too be fast and strong like Petrov. Sutton just doesnt fit into our midfield. So I would use him as backup striker/defender. Hes too old now... football is too fast paced. In the match he lost the ball too much in midfield, with loose passes etc. Dont get me wrong ive worshipped sutton in his prime when he was banging them in. Maybe I just need to see him play in his natural position again because I dont think hes a midfielder at all.

Sutton past it? Get a grip when was the last time u saw a game jaz kos with Stan he is arguably our best player, although i agree he shouldnt be in the middle, tho my reason is that he is a better stricker(better than big fhat john, who should b the back up) or else instead of Bobo who sadly has not done anything sensibly since the last old firm game. As for Nakamura, id love to see him come as he would be a quality addition, although it would be interesting to see where he will slot in.
