I knew that one was coming up again. I ain't from scotland and couldn't care less about religion. it's rivalry, nothing to do with religion.

guess what, catalans don't want real madrid players and vice versa, boca juniors supporters hate any river plate player etc. rivalry is worldwide, your secretarian problem is only in scotland and northern ireland.

I'm sure the Fenerbache fans would love to see their team filled with Besiktas players

Don't care if he used to support Rangers, if he's good enough then I'd sign him. I think Naismith could be moved to the wing personally as well as being used up front. He has better technique than Riordan, Miller, McDonald or Killen and has pace, and his younger by at least three years then any of them.

People still view Riordan as a young player but he is 24 and i think turns 25 this season. Surely if he was going to develop into a great player he should do it pronto.

I think Murdo McLeod was right. When asked about coming from a Rangers supporting family he just said that players generally come to support the clubs they play for, especially if they were there a long time and had a good time. Guys like McGrain and Bertie Auld are diehard Celtic fans now because of their love for the club that grew when playing for them. I would say thats true of Big Roy, Dalgleish, Lambo etc too. At the very least, most players will keep serous soft spots for the teams they played for unless they had a bad time. I really think its different for players compared to supporters. Who they supported as a boy is not important.

Jim Jefferies has called on Celtic to open talks with Kilmarnock striker Steven Naismith.

The Scottish champions had been given permission to speak to the Under 21 international on Monday after agreeing a £2million fee with Kilmarnock.
But Killie boss Jefferies has revealed that The Bhoys have yet to approach Naismith regarding a move to Parkhead.
Jefferies is unsure of the reason for the delay in negotiations getting going, but feels Celtic should show the forward courtesy by making contact.

    A little concerning

"Celtic wanted permission to speak to Steven so they should go and speak to him," said Jefferies.
"They asked to speak to him, but that was on Monday.
"What is a little bit concerning is that we haven't heard anything yet.
"I've kept him up to date with everything, but this could make it seem as if we are not telling him everything.
"They might be busy or have other things on, but if they ask to speak to him then it's only courtesy to the player that they speak to him as quickly as they can.
"It has caused a lot of anxiety for him and it's not fair.
"Steven intimated that he would be willing to speak to Celtic because there is no point in wasting everybody's time.
"And after giving them permission we would like to find out what they are doing."

Scott Brown is/was a hun, he has a Ranger badge on his leg down the side of his calf ( dunno wheather left or right ).. He has been exceptional for us pre-season and think it will continue, aslong as he does the job for us i couldn't care if he had a red hand ulster tatood on his forehead......Well a probably would but you see what i mean.

Assuming "Big Roy" is Mr.Aitken, he's a good catholic boy from Ayrshire.

I didnt think so myself but someone else on TC once listed him as a Celt from a Rangers family in a previous thread and I just accepted it. I sit corrected. My point is it doesnt matter anyway. :50:

Surely if hes as much of a die hard hun to get a badge in such a visible place (as a footballer) as his calf, he wouldnt sign for their biggest rivals, who I assume he'd hate.
